orienteering race 1:05:00 [5]

JK long race. Knew I had to orienter better than yesterday so made the effort to read the map better, it worked! Clean through first few controls (not 100% sure of route choices - some "white" forest was anything but!), got a bit stutters after the road crossing - the rhododendrons were difficult to interpret, but pushed hard on last route-choice loop. Ended up 3rd on day, 4th overall. So a standard JK - crap first day and then pull something out on second... must try to get 2 good runs and see what I can do :-)

Leg was a bit restricting to me, couldn't hit top speed on paths or downhills and very achey after but no lasting damage done. Physio on Wednesday and see what transpires...

steady run warm up/down 25:00 [3]

To start and in terrain at start.

orienteering race 36:00 [5]

JK Middle race at Ambersham. Poor race, too many errors and struggled to interpret parts of map - mostly vegetation in open areas. 9th over 4 mins down. Hmm right leg fine but hip/ pelvis not. Maybe chiropractor or osteopath needed rather than physio.

steady run warm up/down 25:00 [3]

Run to start and plenty of other in terrain, some strides and stretching. Feeling awkward in right hip, sensitive to jarring on rough ground.

Note

Sitting out JKsprint. Had 30 minute massage instead and seems to have loosened things a bit.

Hanging controls in Shooting Greens for holiday camp. Legs felt surprisingly good - managed to run up a couple of (short) hills. Hopefully recovery will continue apace!
