orienteering 1:20:00 [2]

Hanging controls for club training at Potarch. Used new section - nice but a bit thick in places, hope no-one dislikes it too much!
Tired from yesterday and almost ground to a halt near end.

steady run 1:52:00 [3]

Dinnet, round coastal path from cross, up to Davan, old drove road to Campus, through FC and onto small path (time trial loop in reverse), crossed A93 near car park, railway to Campus station and riverbank path from there. Right leg felt better than previously at start (minimal shin tightness), foot still flapping a bit but little discomfort from hip/groin. Right shoulder niggling a bit occasionally but some stretching and swinging helped ease this.
Pretty pleased with how run went, I think Run Across Scotland in mid May looks good now.

Hanging and collecting controls for after-school club. 5 controls nicked between hanging and session starting...

orienteering 48:00 [3]

Run at GT checking some map comments. Nice mild day, struggling on hills - not sure if legs or aerobics were limiting me.

Note

Physio visit - thinks hip/leg problem can be eased by lots of stretching, ditto shoulder. Will try and be diligent in doing the exercises :-)

orienteering race 21:00 [5]

Forest Sprint, Glen O'Dee. Started ahead of E so plenty of pressure. Drifter well right on 3 - didn't check compass. Lost 40+ secs to him. Clawed much of it back but ended up 10 secs behind... Right groin/ ham not too keen on very fast running but improved after the physio this morning.

steady run warm up/down 8:00 [3]

Short warm-up with E

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Matwork session, very enjoyable and nothing too sore from weekend, just a bit tight on a few exercises.

orienteering race 1:05:00 [5]

JK long race. Knew I had to orienter better than yesterday so made the effort to read the map better, it worked! Clean through first few controls (not 100% sure of route choices - some "white" forest was anything but!), got a bit stutters after the road crossing - the rhododendrons were difficult to interpret, but pushed hard on last route-choice loop. Ended up 3rd on day, 4th overall. So a standard JK - crap first day and then pull something out on second... must try to get 2 good runs and see what I can do :-)

Leg was a bit restricting to me, couldn't hit top speed on paths or downhills and very achey after but no lasting damage done. Physio on Wednesday and see what transpires...

steady run warm up/down 25:00 [3]

To start and in terrain at start.
