Club coaching, managed to avoid any control collecting.

Swimming 15:00 [2]

Loch Ullachie with S. Planned for about 10 minutes but didn't time it - pleased to check length of time on existing loch. Lovely spot but very reedy.
Got very cold after - think it was due to not running at all at training session so already on edge of cold before going in.

steady run hills 3:20:00 [3]

Long run with S, Glen Muick car park (well half a mile along the road due to car park being overflowing), along Loch Muick, past the Dubh Loch, up onto Carn a' Coire Bhoidheach then back avoiding going over Lochnagar to top of Ladder and down tourist track.
Struggling from the start, legs heavy. Had some food after an hour but didn't really help - leg muscles just shot from previous week - too many hard sessions. Really struggled up the rough path past the Dubh Loch and walked up to the hill top. Struggling to run at all from there, jogging on flats and downs. The tourist track has been improved from the meltwater gully back down - thank goodness because it had become a horrible bouldery mess. Shuffling a bit by the end.
Still glad to have done it and still been running at finish - should manage the RuTH last this month - with a bit of appropriate recovery beforehand!

orienteering 25:00 [2]

No rest for the wicked! Had to help hang controls in Dalliefour for club training tomorrow. Walked for 30 mins - in the flat heathery forest, then had track controls from there so managed to get legs shuffle;ing along in a jog. out for 55 mins total - for about 4 km with max of 20m climb!

orienteering 15:00 [2]

Hanging and collecting controls for after-school club at Aboyne. Totally soaked by rain storm in middle of session - kids care don regardless - hope they all come back next week!

Intervals hills 10:00 [5]

Hills on Fungle with S. 2 x 5x1+1. Taking a little steady on first part of each one to avoid complete blow-out. Pleased with how session went and hardly thought about left ham and right leg at all.

A few drills at car before warm-up and easy to foot of Fungle and back.

4 boxes of brambles picked at Kinker - looks like it could be a bumper year ;-) yum, yum.

same as previously, feeling quite good and accelerations off circular feet was much better.

To start of WeTT at Birsemore (badly named... it pissed it down all session...)

Course went onto hilltop and down face on west, then across lower boulder field and down to finish by Queen's Loch car park. Struggling early on up hills then struggling to see anything - specs misted up and darkness as rain closed in... But its such a great technical area:-)

Glen Dye, small paths and large forest tracks. 5x4+2 with S. Started tentatively but gradually felt more comfortable style-wise(though it probably wouldn't look pretty to a purist runner) as the session went on. If I can get a few more of these in I might even be half fit for the VHIs!
