orienteering 30:00 [4]

Training for GC O-meet. High altitude pine forest. Pleasant run out but feeling very sluggish - altitude? Map a bit iffy in places, not helped by fire 2 months ago.

Physio exercises 15:00 [2]

steady run 1:23:00 [3]

La Culata to Tejeda for a Christmas morning beer and back. Very pleasant run, gradual climb then big descent to gorge and short climb to village, retraced steps to gorge and back up it to our accom.

Physio exercises 15:00 [2]

Spread throughout day - didn’t fancy calf raises before walk.

Note

Long walk approx 4-30 walking and 1350m ascent. Legs tired by end. Up to ridges opposite our accom and visited base of a superb rock pillar - Roque Nublo. Hot in sun but still frost on ground in woods by end as we dropped down to La Culata.

Note

Travel to Gran Canaria. Went for decent walk once at accom. Walking time approx 80 mins. Stunning scenery and superb rock spires and cliffs.

Physio exercises 12:00 [2]

steady run 1:20:00 [3]

Morven Solstice run. Pleasant mild evening, wearing too much and carrying far too much - as usual:-)
Good steady walk up first hill then managed to run much of rest, usual wobble down after chocs, mince pies and a few drams.
Must have been about 40 out... and Cosmics are going up tomorrow night - Morven has never been so busy. Track is widening and eroding the whole way - will need some remedial work soon.

Swimming 9:00 [2]

Forgot to add this before other sessions - went for a dip in the River Dee at Potarch bridge - no ice but still a bit parky! High water so current was quite exciting. Had planned to stay in for 10 mins but eventually after some faffing back and forward across the stream I headed downstream and realised I was heading for some rapids so bailed to the bank.
New suit worked a treat and not really affected b the cold - except my chin - must remember to wear a buff in the future.

steady run 20:00 [3]

Wee jaunt round Dess Woods to loosen legs. Nice mild day.

orienteering race 44:00 [5]

DNC Glen Dye. Legs feeling very leaden but pushed as hard as I could and only lost time in a couple of places - maybe 40-50 secs in total. Very pleased with technical side, but still 10 mins down on JW... Ohh for some 18 year old legs!

steady run warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Before start (never enough!) and jog back from finish.
