Felt much bouncier this afternoon than any day since a week past Tuesday - its taken that long to get intervals and other sessions out of my legs... Getting old = recovery is slooooooow.

Forest Sprint, Dess Woods. Jogged over with S and E feeling terrible. Crawled u pto start then as others faffed just headed off. E caught me heading to 2 so I upped the effort and managed to keep in sight of him (checking he didn't take a sneaky peek at his map, since he was doing it all map memory). Managed it just about by taking good lines with better running/less climb. He drifted left at 2nd last control and I closed the gap then managed to outspent him - turned out he hadn't memorised the finish... or else he would easily have got me!
Grateful for a lift home!

Intervals hills 12:00 [5]

Deeside Runners, Glen Tanar. 2x1 hills, did 6 then bailed - legs pretty shot, struggling with breathing (pollen?) and generally stuffed. Lovely evening -taps aff and then 5 minutes in river at end - lovely :-)
Don't think I've totally trashed myself - unlike last Tuesday. Tomorrow will tell.

Ooof, tough starter session (miss last 3 weeks). Foam roller and I was given the totally round, hard one which meant balancing was tough and lying on was painful. Still all for the greater good in the long run...

Hanging controls at Foggieton. ran out of food at end, cold sweats and wobbly legs, saved by soup and sandwich in hte camper van :-)

With S and ME, up jungle, below Carn Ferg, turned west through gap towards Glen Tanar pine woodland then swung further north and rejoined track near Baudy Meg, back towards the Guard and onto Craigendinnie and down Master Blaster then back along tracks and field to Fungle. Felt fairly heavy legged but reasonably steady pace and kept going OK. Left calf still tot hot-stripe down outer back of it - need more massage and stretching.

Hanging controls at morrone Birk wood for Cairngoem big day. Nice morning and very pleasant trot round. Legs feeling pretty ropey still.

steady run hills 1:00:00 [3]

Braemar games park to Carn nan Sgliat (above Creag Choinnich). Started with E but his knees bothering him so last bit on my own then met him again o descent. Felt pretty rubbish on hate climb, lots of walking. Legs still not great from Tuesday/Wednesday.
