With e, Torphins, Sauchan, Monymusk, My Lord's Throat, Alford, cross roads and back. A bit gritty for much of it - trying to hang onto E's well and mostly failing. He had a nice steady cycle, I had a grind :-) Legs very never really bad but just had a lack of top-end oomph.
Still, a nice day to be out and some new back roads to me.

short (very) warmup in Braemar with EC.

orienteering 21:00 [4]

Sprint training in Braemar with EC. Tried to take different routes, ran OOB on one - oops! Map holding up surprisingly well, some wee changes but nothing too major. We both mangled the forest leg - overshooting horribly! Goos learning point.

steady run 23:00 [3]

Up CC with E and EC, a bit of a grind up and sketchy descent on south side. But great views as ever.
Nice to feel not too broken after Thursday.

Aboyne - Dinnet (SD), Logie Coldstone, Tarland via north road and loop, Queens View, Traland Raod to Torphins and back via Pitmurchie Road.
Showery and got cold at end with long descents into rain and wind.
Quiet enough roads so very pleasant.

Cambus time trial - 19-22 so 29 seconds faster than last time :-) Happy with that. Pushed a bit harder early on and really suffered after turning off big track for last loop - felt like puking and had to ease off for a bit. Maybe strong coffee 2 hours before was too close?

Half lap with RC and then some more plus a wee jog at end with all 3 others.

Cowshit alley and Bull-evard. Legs feeling OK, another sweaty humid day, taps aff again.

Tuesday Aug 18, 2020 #

Intervals 9:00 [5]

Short interval session - don't want to wreck myself for Thursday.
1, 2, 3, 2, 1 with 1, 1.5, 2, 1.5 recovery.
Legs felt not too bad and decent leg-speed.
Down DW to east, riverbank and back via (the other) Gardens Cottage road.

Good length of warm-up and then slow home.

Good session, lots of upper body weights stuff but felt strong.
