steady run warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Warm-up - welcome needed, lower right side of back very stiff and sore this morning (after digging and barrowing soil yesterday).

orienteering 58:00 [5]

O event Creag Choinnich, tough course, lots of climbs but well planned and lots of route choices - I certainly didn't get them all right!
A struggle on uphils- basically walked all of them, but very enjoyable, at least in retrospect. Got very cold after run but a stop at the Highland Bakehouse Cafe helped to warm me up :-)

To Kinker via DW then up Torphins direct road, back via fields and DessWoods. Lovely morning and plenty of stops to look at views.

Dess Woods lap - feeling god leg-wise but struggling on hills. Lovely evening - brilliant red clouds to west initially and gradual fall in light as the run went on. Only had to use head torch for last descent to house.

More GPS plotting. Just about done with this phase. Lots of major tweaking to be done before re-visiting to check the details.

To Aboyne on mountain bike to pick up car from MOT - it passed! :-)

orienteering race 42:00 [5]

DNC Haughton and Murray (Alford). Nice runnable area and felt I was moving pretty well (for me). Got a bit scrappy in middle of course, pushing too hard and not checking map enough, plus a few dodgy route choices cost me a bit of time.
6th which realistically I should be happy with given the opposition.

Walking round edge of area then some major tracks with GPS - to try to sort the major distortions in the map!
Hope the GPS works or else its back again tomorrow...

Felt tough - not sure if it was session or tired from weekend- maybe a bit of both!

After-school running club - First session, 20 children, Aboyne Castle and back via main road and Castle wood. VGood to be started again and to see the enthusiasm. Legs felt Ok, though right achilles still just a tiny bit tender - 0.5-1.
