Sunday Apr 4 #

Note

Rest day - feeling fairly trashed from yesterdays epic. Wee walk round loch an waiting for E to finish his Coyles of Muick run, fell asleep in car :-)

Saturday Apr 3 #

cycling 27:00 [2]

Up Glen Callater to Callater Lodge.

steady run 4:05:00 [3]

Callater Lodge (CP28) along teak then up to corrie to Loch Kander (CP31), steep climb out (met DK and had a catch up) over to Tolmount (CP34), white hares galore, cut across below Knaps of Fafernie and up Cairn of Gowal (CP39), then along ridge - avoiding tops as much as possible :-) to pick up track to The Stuic (CP38). Descent to col and descending traverse (lots of lovely snow patches) to col NW of Carn an Sagairt Mor then short steep climb to ridge, quick splash (too shallow for a proper dip in pool) and along to Meall an t-Slugain (CP27) then lovely line back to Lodge 0 lots of snow and some lovely soft smooth springy marshes.
Mega day out 4-30 total run time but a few stops. Stunning day - one of the best ever, at my own pace and never felt hurried or stressed. Weather superb - blue skies all day, feel totally frazzled by sun and wind!
One for the ages :-))))

cycling 16:00 [2]

while back down, hardly pedalling! Could be level 1?

Friday Apr 2 #

cycling 2:00:00 [3]

A short easy bike rode with E... Hinging on by my eyebrows for parts, and well dropped in rest :-) Home - Pottoes - Glen Cat - Birse Castle - Finzean farm shop - Corsedarder - potties - home.
well stuffed after.
* time a guess 'cos I didn't note it and E not yet updated his log...

cycling 27:00 [2]

From Inverey with RC to west, stopped once track got too steep for enjoyable cycling :-)

steady run 2:18:00 [3]

Up Carn Liath - v steep to start with then lovely ridge run to Carn Liath (CP15) then lovely gently undulating ridge with some fantastic running underfoot - short heather or moss - like running on carpet in many places :-)
South to Geal Carn (and its famous shelter!) (CP 14). From here we took the NE ridge to "Top of the Battery". Stopped at the wee loch on col for a dip - lovely peaty loch an with snow drifts leading into it. Sun was warm and no wind - felt lovely :-))
Up to the rocky top and then a STEEP descent to bikes.

cycling 21:00 [2]

Whiz down the track and back - felt summer like in places with the sun and no wind.
Great wee day out.

Wednesday Mar 31 #

steady run warm up/down 23:00 [3]

Down deeside Way and over to top fields and back to DAP on tracks. Legs felt pretty ropey to start but improved.

orienteering race 30:00 [5]

Maroc Forest Sprint. Nice little course using the best bits of Dess, mostly straight line or slightly deviating to avoid felled. Good course and no real errors - there shouldn't be since its my back garden :-)
Struggling a bit on hills.
Don't know time - results not up yet...

Tuesday Mar 30 #
