7am run with Ryston from Martin's house Beachamwell.

Felt like I had no energy after 30min in. Just really poop.

"Hills" 10:00 [3]

28mins into the run we did 10mins of "hill" running. It was actually effort. But not because of the incline but because I'm a pie and any form of interval running would have been difficult.

Another 20mins into the run and we did another 10min worth of "hill" reps up a slighter steeper and shorter slope.

Home to Bolehill chippy-stables-along the path-cut back up to crosspool via haggs lane-lydgate lane and home.

Cut the run short as not feeling well and my painkillers hadn't kicked in. Felt awful along crosspool but got into the swing of things up lydgate lane.

Saw zan and laura at top of springvale. Zan forced me to touch her bum to feel this 'bump' cos she fell over. Dont see her weeks and then it's all 'touch my bum' v.random.

Brisk run down to Hunters Bar roundabout.

Strides and drills and that kind of jazz.

20 * 30s on 30s off.

Good session. We lost the boys unfortunately after a road crossing but we still did it all all the same. Was quite terrifying running when the boys were charging towards you.

Was pushing it quite hard. A is usual with sprinting I wanted to vom at the end but the boys told me to stand up and get on with it. which is what i needed telling really.

5* Accelerations of about 40m.

Note

I thought the injury had passed and then on the last acceleration I stopped abruptly stupidly and it pulled again. And then when I ran back from rachs after sitting about getting cold it's now become sore again. And the muscle around the hip and front quad at the same level has become tight. gay.

through the little woods section I pulled a muscle in my right bum cheek. During the downhill sections from the golf course onwards it was chuffing painful and I had to stop several times cos it hurt a lot so apologies to the others for my continual stopping. It still hurts a bit now. The housemates are also taking the piss out of me bout it too to make matters worse. charming.

Blurgh I would have made Hartmann look like he was training hard.

Really hard due to lack of sleep and lack of training. I then came over dizzy and was on that point where you feel your going to go so just remained sat where I was for a while. Have felt like that before but only when I've been quite ill...hmmm. o well just got to get training I suppose.

Orienteering (BOC Womens Short) 41:33 [3]

So frustrating.

I was doing so well!!!! Having a nice little battle with zoe's teammate from deeside. Up to control #8. I cut through the forest and came out at a path junction unfortunately i got the path junction wrong and so spent 10mins cocking about in the wrong bit of forest. After that made silly mistakes but nothing to major. Though did get to #10 by going to #11 first :-S Anyway 51secs on the run in. would have been quicker if my dibber had actually worked the first time i put it into the finish control.

So majorly annoying to have a 10min error. as 31mins would have been a respectable time...for me anyhow. Boo.

Edit: ARRGGHH I was 9th until I made that mistake. Finished 18th. Grr.



Note

What a weekend for ShUOC

The ShUOC Men with 1st place in the BOC Premier Trophy, 5th (impressed that shminty managed to come back in 5th despite being knocked out by a branch) and 11th. And Dan, Ash and Nic finished 2nd on the Mens Short- v.impressive considering Nic and Ash are pretty much newcomers to the sport.

The ladies did massively well on the Premier in 7th :-)- they need to be more confident in that they are good enough to be on that course and that they stand good chance in winning medals.

Apologies to the Womens Short Team for my awful run. RFR had a stormer (5th fastest on 3rd!).

Individually- Bit disappointed with my runs. But very pleased with the mighty ShUOC. Was my last orienteering big race with ShUOC. Bit mixed feelings- v.sad to leave but v.proud of the mighty ShUOC team. Wish I could have repeated the performances of the JK (tho according to nic I did shit :-P) and finished on a high. But hey ho.

Orienteering 1:34:28 [3]

Not my best run not my worst. Just didn't have the fire in my belly like I did at JK.

Struggled in the quarry area? the bit that was heavily talked about anyway. I also hate spurs and rentrants. I have tried and tried to understand what a rentrant looks like and I just still struggle. Don't know how to get round this. Also struggled with this on the relay.

O and the last bit was a physical struggle. When your as slow as me and rubbish you're out for so long and you run a LOT further- it gets so knackering.
