A weeks course of dioxycycline left me feeling drained on the run (same tabs gaz had for anti malaria imcidently ). that n a combo of poor choice of footwear n a chesty cough n I just could not keep up with ingers and miss lee somewhere near the southdowns. So turned back and left them to it.
Lovely bit of Xmas shopping in Brighton where I spotted a kite. Ingrid then recognised man hanging kite as jonny crickmore's dad n we found there was a night-o street-o going on that night. Unfortunately we weren't dressed for the occasion. But our dinner was made entertaining as our restaurant was right near a control site
So decided to run this Fri eve as gaz got a number n I knew jayne had one n my training is low sounds like perfect prep... Started off strong...too strong with a 7.30 mile for mile 2. Ran with Paul n bill (dressed as a norfolk turkey) for 3miles then the second hill killed me n I struggled miles 4-8. Emma n nimit breezed past at mile 6 n I couldn't latch on. At 8 n half miles gave myself a talking to n kept the pace at 9 min miles to keep under the 2hrs. Last mile was poss 8.30 as jayne n vicky caught me up n we raced to the line.
First ever half marathon n it hurt as much as my tri. Pleased to get round but not pleased with pacing but good training especially those hills
