Ride in the white peak. AMAZING! Bonked bout 20mins before end so ate half a mars bar n got on with it.

Now sat in car park covered in grease bike items strewn all over car park completely knackered waiting for the boys to return....I'm 45 mins later than I said I would be so bit worried....

MAD Open Water Series Race 3, Matlock

Did the 500m race which was 250m swim downstream, 250m swim upstream

F**K me it was cold. Wasn't expecting that to have as much effect as it did as it sends your body into shock and therefore your breathing which makes swimming very difficult. Once I got to 250m I had calmed my breathing down and was enjoying the whole thing. Thought I would take half an hour so was pleasantly surprised when Gaz told me I had done near 14mins. Severe back ache due to poor wetsuit getting on which wasn't helped by getting there too late. Lessons learnt: have a swim to acclimatise before hand (wasn't really an option today) and get the wetsuit into the most comfortable position plenty of time before hand.
