Mountain Biking race (Turner Hill MTBO) 1:58:00 [5] 25.0 km (12.7 kph)
shoes: Specialized FSR Comp

Did the medium course (20k's) at Turner Hill. Arrived a bit late, so rushed start - not the best. Really bad route choice to #1 - took about 40mins when it should have been much less. Eoin R caught up to me at #2 and then we were together until the second last one - so not too bad a pace considering he did about 20mins better than me.

My splits were to 45:19 to #1, 18:00 to #3 - missed clicking it at #2 when Eoin arrived), 16:08 to #4, 8:15 to #5, 11:52 to #6, 6:03 to #7, 13:15 to finish.

Nice high quality course. The nav kept me from getting winded. Took a long time to figure out where the start triangle was. Made a few small errors - mainly in the final locale of a control - overshooting or approaching from the wrong side - 3-4 in all, but happy to have kept them contained. Now to reduce the number of errors and pick up the speed.

Steady run in light rain through Kings Park in the dark. Lots of ambient light with the clouds out. Ran through to Mount St hill which I ran up at a constant slowish pace 4 times, then home.

Quick ride around Kings Park.

Warm up and down from City Beach shops to CB.

Running 21 [5] 3.0 km (7 / km)

7 sets of 180 sec on, 90 sec off. Ran barefoot. Half on beach, half on paths - figure 8 loop. Almost kept up with Liz L.
