Running (AM) 4:54:03 [2] 26.0 mi (11:19 / mi) +10000ft 8:17 / mi
ahr:144 slept:7.0 shoes: Pearl Izumi Peak 12

Soda Springs Park to Elk Park then to the top of Pikes Peak. I ran with Jamison and Jensen until the 7.8 sign. Then I met up with Ryan Hafer at Elk Park. I made it to Barr Camp in 1:22 from Soda Springs and then 2:23 to Elk Park. Ryan and I made it back to Barr in 3:08 but I started to feel a little tired. I only carried 300 calories in gels with me so I made a stop at Barr Camp but it still wasn't enough to make it to the top. I hit the wall at A-Frame and had to run/walk the rest of the way. The trail from 2 to go was not it great shape but it has really improved over the past two weeks. I will have to do that run again 10,000 feet of elevation gain is a huge day.

Manitou then up the incline, did the incline in 25:05 as a tempo run with Ryan Hafer. I havent run the inclince since I was in high school and part way through I realized why I hadn't been back. I ran the first 7 minutes then walked the next 10 and then ran the next 8 minutes. It took me a while to figure out a good cadence and I think that when I run it again I will be able to go up a few minutes faster next time. There were so many people on the incline I just couldnt believe it when we started that many people would be there.

Treadmll, 4 mile tempo run in 20:58 the mile splits were 5:24, 5:19, 5:13, 5:03. It took me a long time to get my HR up but I averaged about 175-181 for the last two miles. At the mile split my HR was only at 160 but it usually seem to take a while on my treadmill to reach my goal HR. Overall it felt good and my calf is feeling a lot better.
