Light training session before tomorrows big match :)
Was good.

Tuesday Apr 28, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 20:00 [2] 1.2 km (16:40 / km)

Jogging and stretches both ways :)

Running 27:44 [4] 6.45 km (4:18 / km)

Champagne Race at Lockington..

Was rainy and muddy and stuff but i really enjoyed it!
Bit annoying at the start because i was too far back and had to get past loads of slow people, but after that, i just kept setting myself targets on who to catch next :P
Managed to come 3rd woman today, but that might have somehting to do with the fact that loads did the london marathon! Ahwell.. it was still good :)

Strength 20:00 [2]

Wobble board for 20mins after school :)

Monday Apr 27, 2009 #

Strength (and Stretching) 35:00 [2]

25minutes wobble board
10minutes stretching - determined to be able to touch my toes at least by the end of the summer! :P

Sunday Apr 26, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:08:07 [3] 8.3 km (8:12 / km) +65m 7:54 / km

HALO event..

Did brown which just made me feel a bit bored after a while and thats probably why i mispunched :P Realised that i had mispunched but couldnt really be bothered to correct myself so just carried on with the course. Lost concentration and lacked enthusiasum! And nettle stings really hurt and annoy me.

Warm Up/Down 10:00 [1]

WU: Jog and strecthes..

WD: Nothing.. should have done something but was just tired.

Saturday Apr 25, 2009 #

Football 1:45:00 [4]

Vs Flamborough.. Won 1-0

Was a truely rubbish match, noone played well and we were very lucky to win because we were so bad. They aren't a good team either and we should have beatn them at least 8-0 if not more! Bit annoyed but at least we won.. Need to play better if we are going to win the league =/

Note

Went to bed when i got in from football so basically wasted my afternoon, but i was tired and football wore me out :P

Friday Apr 24, 2009 #

Running 33:08 [3] 6.68 km (4:58 / km) +180m 4:22 / km

Didn't feel that great until about 4km into the run and then i felt a blister coming so that wasn't great!
Need to get back into running more otherwise i'll end up lazy.

Warm Up/Down 15:00 [2] 0.85 km (17:39 / km)

Jog and stretches.

Thursday Apr 23, 2009 #

Cycling 48:07 [3] 15.0 km (3:12 / km) +170m 3:02 / km

Didn't feel like a run, should have gone really but never mind..
Decidied to go out on my bike which hasn't been riden properly in years, no joke.. Found it quite hard uphill into Little Wold and i was probably going slower than i can run up it.. Didn't really like it through there so went out and onto the roads.. Went down the road which links Drewton and Everthorpe prison three times before going back inot South Cave, down Annie Med Lane, over the fly-pver and back home :)
Was tiring and my legs are a bit jellyish now.. Don't think i'll be doing that again in a hurry :P

Note

urghh.. i hate chemistry coursework!

Wednesday Apr 22, 2009 #

Football 1:45:00 [3]

Walked to football 'cos i'd just eaten some food..
It was quite good tonight :)
Ran back home the long way round to burn a few extra calories :)

Tuesday Apr 21, 2009 #

Football (Match) 1:30:00 [3]

Was invited to play for Goole again; just a league match this time in Harrogate so a fair drive for an evening :)

Was good, we won 4-0 but i played shocking.. First half at rightback and then half of the second half upfront :)

Note

Urghh. Liverpool disappoint me =/

Monday Apr 20, 2009 #

Note
(rest day)

Rest day, wooo :)

Taking David back to Cambridge, go shopping for prom stuff :) and then preparing for school tomorrow :(
Don't know what training to do this week; no champagne league race this week so a longish run tomorrow probably, football wednesday and i don't know about the other two days!

Sunday Apr 19, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 45:00 [2] 2.7 km (16:40 / km) +175m 12:35 / km

Walk up to the start, didn't do any jogging which probably wasnt the best idea.. Did stretches once at the start..
Didn't do a warm down which was also a bad idea because my legs were killing me in the car!

Orienteering 1:57:19 [4] 6.5 km (18:03 / km) +300m 14:40 / km

Oh Dear..

I actually was really enjoying myself, even though i knew i had been AGES, but that went away when the relaisation that Kirstin and Abi had caught me up 25 and 30minutes at number10 sunk in.. Didn't start well at all, so thats three races in a row i've done that.

Messed up number one because i was trying too hard. Was reading into the map too much, picking off everything, when I should have just run straight to the wall, and then navigated to the control from there.. Woman asking me where she was put me off, should have ignored her, but I was walking trying to get the control right at the time. Eventually found number one after going the wrong direction through the open.. Stupid mistake because the big crags were really obvious!

Lost a bit of time on number two, was too far south but relocated quite well which i was happy with :)

Number three was going really well until i let myself get distracted by other people.. I knew the control was just over the crag i was at, but then i went south west to the veg boundry and got confused, then realised where I was and got to the control fine!

Number four, probably not even worth mentioning; 28minutes 35seconds it took me, should have been at least half that time I think! Thought i knew where I was, and i was really confident about the leg. Had planned to cut through this little bit of green to get to open at the other side, but i never got there because i think i was looking at the wrong place.. Was stood in a clearing near a crag, trying to work out where i was and was then helped by Jenny who had done exactly the same thing I had done.. Found out where we were and thensorted it out from there.. Can't believe how long it actually took! hmmm.

4-5 did not know which way to go, so that leg took me ages aswell. Ended up going round on the track and in at a clearing, using a fenced area to help. Once i got down to the track the leg went really well and I was so pleased that i actually knew where i was :)

5-6 was good, slow again, but i was pleased because i got straight to the control :)

6-7 was ok, slight confusion near the control circle but not too much.. Slow again but navigation was good.

7-8 Took me ages, but i had been slow throughout. Picked off the features well and knew exactly where I was all the time which really helped!

8-9 Good but slow.

9-10 Wrong re-enterant at the start but as soon as i couldnt see the control i just went on further and it was there.

10-11.. Took a route which was too safe, around the wall for a bit and then across. Knew where i was at all times, but going straight would have been a lot quicker!

11-12 Good, knew where I was going for once :)

12-13 Was too happy about number 12 so went off a bit.. Was actually in the right re-enterant but too high up, but didnt relaise so carried on running and it took me a little bit of time to get back. Found the control fine after that.

13-14 Went too far south east of the control but realised where I was when i saw the wall bend.

14-15.. Slow! followed people :)

15-finish.. Slow :P

Overall, not happy with my starting again, but my running felt good and after number four i felt like i was orienteering good, but thats probably because i went so slowly.. Lost a LOT of time everywhere.. Never orienteered on an area like this before, so it was a good challenge and taught me a lesson i think :P

Positives: I was 11th/15 and from the start list, I hadn't expected to be higher than this anyway so that was good.. Navigation got better as i went along.

Negative: Lost a lot of time, every control had a loss of time either through navigation mistakes, hesitation or just general slowness.

Well done if you actually read all this! :)

Warm Up/Down 40:00 [2] 2.8 km (14:17 / km) +200m 10:32 / km

Warm Up: Walk/Little jog around the route of the Great Tower Time Trial, just looking at it and deciding the best way to go at some parts.. Then me and Dad went out again but cut the big hill out to try jogging the downhill sections for practice.. Then did some jogging and stretches before the start..

Warm Down: Jog by myself around the area left of the time trial, near the toilet blocks and some stretches.

Running 23:03 [5] 3.6 km (6:24 / km) +200m 5:01 / km

Great Tower Time Trial..

Did ok, but at the end I felt like I should have done a lot better.. Went off too fast and the first hill tired me out a bit too much so from there i was dead.. Maybe should have pushed harder than I did on the second lap.
Not really sure if I enjoyed it or not, but comparing times against other poeple was interesting :)

My Times:
1st lap/2nd lap

181 - 1:24/1:40
182 - 2:36/3:24
183 - 2:04/1:58
184 - 0:51/0:59
185 - 1:20/1:27
186 - 2:43/2:37

Running 15:00 [3] 1.75 km (8:34 / km) +50m 7:30 / km

Went for a small jog around the training area with Dad to loosen up my legs before the time trial.. Was quite nice :)

Friday Apr 17, 2009 #

Running 27:04 [3] 5.21 km (5:12 / km) +115m 4:41 / km

Easy-ish run with Dad into Little Wold, just one loop round as I don't want to be too tired for tomorrow :)

Warm Up/Down 10:00 [3] 0.5 mi (20:00 / mi)

Not enough, but the usual.

Orienteering 18:13 [3] 3.14 km (5:48 / km) +10m 5:43 / km

HALO Lincolnshire Poacher, Event 1 at Cottagers Dale Wood.

Did the short course, probably should have done long but I wanted a rest really.. Missed football training to go because it was rubbist last week anyway :P
Had a good run despite going off thw rong way to number one, bit hesitant but i always am :)

Tuesday Apr 14, 2009 #

Running 23:24 [4] 5.38 km (4:21 / km) +45m 4:10 / km

3rd Champagne Race at Beverly Westwood :)

Was really good and I felt surprisingly energetic.. Managed to come 3rd woman this week, so im slowly working my way up :)

Evening watching Liverpool vs Chelsea was then ruined for my stupid allergic reaction; grrrr.

Tired, but still no rest day tomorrow.

Warm Up/Down 15:00 [2]

Jog and stretches.

Monday Apr 13, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 10:00 [1]

Did barely anything; a bit of a jog and some stretching as usual.

Orienteering 38:18 [4] 4.3 km (8:54 / km) +110m 7:54 / km

Relays - Jk Trophy!

We wern't last, wooo!!
Was an alright run, a lot better than Saturday and Sunday anyway.
Hesitated and took too long on decisions in parts but the rest was ok.

Sunday Apr 12, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:24:32 [4] 7.3 km (11:35 / km) +250m 9:53 / km

Slightly better but messed up number one and three awfully which meant Kirstin caught me up 9minutes by number 5..
The rest was very average until the easy bit at the end when i gave it everything I had left after two otherwise poor runs.
Dissappointed.

Warm Up/Down 20:00 [1]

Usual.

Saturday Apr 11, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:11:03 [4] 4.5 km (15:47 / km) +230m 12:35 / km

BLURGH.

It was Horrible, hated every second of it..
Messed up number1, then two and three, then 10, 13, 14.. The rest were also very slow. Probably ran at least 6km if not more.

Enough said really!

Warm Up/Down 20:00 [1]

Jog about and stretches.

Friday Apr 10, 2009 #

Event: JK 2009

Orienteering 20:39 [4] 2.9 km (7:07 / km) +10m 7:00 / km

W18 Sprint Race..

Was one of the best races i've done. Navigation was easy which suited me as it meant I could run faster. Perhaps felt I could have run a little faster in places, but am really happy with the result. Under the 20minutes was possible without a few hesitations..

5th overall; third W18 :)

Warm Up/Down 30:00 [2] 1.8 km (16:40 / km)

Warm Up: Jog to start and back with Dad and strecthes. Then a jog around the church with the warm-up map and up to the start; then more strecthes.

Warm Down: Jog around the church area and a few stretches but probably not enough.

Thursday Apr 9, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 15:00 [1]

Usual.

Running 24:40 [3] 4.9 km (5:02 / km)

Easy run with David :)

Wednesday Apr 8, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 20:00 [2] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)

Jogging and stretches

Running 27:40 [4] 6.42 km (4:19 / km)

Second Champagne Race - starting in North Cave :)

Was good; think i did better than last week, especially in the last mile when I decided i needed to push on as I wanted to catch up some more places :P
Did the last mile a bit faster than the others I think..
Managed to stay with and then pull away from the guy who out-sprinted me last week and also managed to sprint past two people; one man and one woman on the final bit today :)

Calf is a bit sore, not sure what to do with it as its been like this for a week and a bit more maybe =/

Otherwise, good run (Y)

Monday Apr 6, 2009 #

Jog and stretches.

Running 30:22 [3] 6.3 km (4:49 / km) +15m 4:46 / km

Went with David on the paths/road for an easy jog :)

Down to Costcutters, down annie med lane, over the fly-over into elleker and turned left, then down past the garden centre and along to the petrol station. Down through market place, down church road and up the cut through back home :)

Was quite good, didnt hurt my legs too much either :)

Sunday Apr 5, 2009 #

Football (Cup Final) 1:40:00 [4]

Played for Goole today as they needed me for a Cup final..

Was a bit disappointed with the teams attitude because normally they're really good!
Score was 2-1 in the end, shame because the other teams secong goal was scored from a free-lick which shouldnt have been awarded.. Played at Right back which is my normal position for Goole; felt a bit strange as im not used to it.. Overall was alright, but would have been nice to win as the next part of the competition is being played at the Rebok Stadium.

Saturday Apr 4, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 15:00 [1]

Jog and strecthes.
10 minutes for prologue and 5 minutes for chase.

Orienteering 17:16 [4] 3.3 km (5:14 / km) +55m 4:50 / km

Final Sprint and Chase at Londesborough..

Stayed on the open parkland areas; not too difficult, but had the best and cleanest run ever possibly which was really good :)

Orienteering 19:30 [4] 2.9 km (6:43 / km) +60m 6:06 / km

Chase..

Started fourth and ended up sixth which I was very happy with :)
Got really tired towards the end and Dean overtook me; then couldn't be bothered to try and challenge him as I knew my Womens Open title was safe :) :)

Was good, but I am tired now! :P

Friday Apr 3, 2009 #

Note
(rest day)

Tired!

Thursday Apr 2, 2009 #

Football Training 1:15:00 [3]

Only six of us there.. Was a bit average tbh.

Wednesday Apr 1, 2009 #

Warm Up/Down 15:00 [2] 0.84 km (17:51 / km)

Usual :)

Running 30:45 [3] 5.9 km (5:13 / km) +130m 4:42 / km

Easy run with David up into Little Wold.. Weather is really hot; wore shorts and a vest.
I think he was a little tired as he has already been for a run, so had to slow up a bit for him in places but the gentleness was good :)

Note

Was 8th woman yesterday and 67th out of 161 finishers :D
