Night-O at Como Park set by PFC
Had troubles finding CP 5 - wasted about a minute even though I was within 10 meters of the control two times previous.
Likely ran a bit too hard to catch back up over the next few controls. Was seriously dumb in the head and was losing time by not reading the map well. Got totally annihilated out of CP 17, running 90 degrees in the wrong direction for a minute or two, making CP 18 my worst time-lost split in quite a while - and at Como no less!
Interesting to see my HR drop and recover in both instances.... Then pick back up where it left off.

Race 4 of 4 autumn trail run series at Hyland.
Really tried to push the middle part of the course starting with Tree Farm Hill in a strategy to hold on at the end. Came toward the finish with a pack of three other dudes on the uphill finish. Held off the one I had moved up with and was able to pass the other two on the final 50-100 meters by 1 second. I haven't pushed myself that hard in quite a while and bested my time from two weeks ago by 48 seconds.

William O'Brien Orienteering Meet set/vet by Stephen & Chuck Regenold
The veg in this park is certainly thick, including buckthorn and other prickly species. Course was a mix of fast trail run, really slow woodsy crawling, and some open prairie dashes. Unmapped section of the course could have been laid out better with clearer instruction or a flagged route...
