snow shoe (elapsed time) 50:00 [3]

At 7pm Birdybird and I strapped on our headlamps and donned our safety goggles for a apres diner snowshoe. There is a full moon but it was snowing too hard to really see it. The temp was about minus 1 so it was beautiful with the snow sticking to the trees, but unfortunately it also stuck to our snowshoes (something awful). Guess it's like skiing at these temperatures. So the time is elapsed due to the several times we had to knock the snow off. You couldn't feel the big balls much in the deep snow but the packed trails were a little wobbly.

All in all, a gorgeous night for an outdoor adventure!

snow shoe 2:20:00 [3]

Big loop at Hardy lake with Larry, Birdybird and Paula. Some of the trail was hard to find and we almost turned back. Larry was getting worried that we wouldn't make it out before dark.

snow shoe 1:15:00 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (45:00 @3)

Snowshoe with Larry and Birdybird. Cutting and flagging the pond loop, plus the small 3rd loop.

Note

Falling off the Attack Point radar!!! The Christmas craziness of family and stress has got the better of me the last few days. Now that I'm ready to enjoy the great outdoors, it's raining!

Good thing I can ride the trainer tomorrow if need be...

snow shoe 1:40:00 [3]

Birdybird and Paula come out for a snowshoe just up the road from us. First part was easy but after that we thought we'd cut a new trail where last year's was. Got a little lost but discovered some nice new area with a view of our entire subdivision and Muskoka Bay. Well worth it!

Sure could feel the hipflexors and IT band afterward.

Note

I really want to get out skiing but with all the hustle and bustle of christmas and all the comings and goings of company, it doesn't look like it will happen before the 26th. :( (but I'm going to keep trying!)

biking 53:45 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (33:45 @3) + (10:00 @4) 30.87 km (1:44 / km)

Being a numbers girl I am very excited that Birdybird wired my odometer to my back wheel on the trainer. Although I know it's not the same as biking outdoors but always nice to measure speed and distance if only to compare my own workouts.

Jo Dee Mesina today. The only problem with that cd is that it's only about 30 minutes. I'm probably the only person who still uses a cd player (yet I do have an mp3 player). But I love some of my cds!

Had to cut it short due to Birdy"s impatience to go snowshoeing.

snow shoe 58:00 [3]

Half of it was cutting new trail.

snow shoe 1:00:00 [3]

After spending the night in the car on highway 11 due to another person's accident, Lori and I broke out the snowshoes at lunchtime. We took the back trail to the south end of town and did some shopping. On the snowmobile trail it was fairly packed. But when we broke our own trail it was about a meter deep! :)

Note

Lori and I headed to T.O. to see The Sound of Music. I had to cancel my morning appointment at the Dutch Consulaat to renew my passport due to the stormy weather in town. We headed out at around lunch time and it was a little snowy and very windy!

We stopped at Don Mills to check out the Salomon store. Nice Stuff! After that, we hit MEC and bought some christmas presents and ofcourse some things for ourselves.

The show was a birthday present to me from Lori and it was great! We were four rows or so from the front, orchestra , and we could see everything. (Last time I was in the theatre I could see the people, but not their expressions.) Even their microphones stuck on the front of their heads. The sets were very impressive!

The ride home was clear till Orillia and 10 minutes out of Gravenhurst traffic stopped and we stayed there for 5 1/2 hours. Luckily we packed blankets and had lots of gas so we were nice and warm.

Quite the adventure!

biking 1:27:00 intensity: (15:00 @2) + (57:00 @3) + (15:00 @4)

Bikin' to the BeeGees! The advantage of the trainer is that you can sing along out loud (till you run out of breath, that is).

Took my road bike in last week to get fitted properly and quite a difference. The only reason I quit was because of a dentist appointment.

Michael Bolton for the cool down (I know, Iknow...)

Lovin' the storm out there!

strength 1:00:00 [2]

Upper Body Sculpt class. This week we used bands which didn't seem as hard as last weeks weights, yet my arms were shaking!

Raining on my walk home :(

orienteering 36:10 [3]

Thomass sprint at Rattlesnake point. Kinda' followed the pack off the map to checkpoint #2 and then suffered the unnecessary climb back up. After that everything went pretty well but I could have gone faster.

orienteering (approx) 1:00:00 [3]

The Thomass Chase was set up well. Nice to see the young kids starting off first (yet painful that they can probably navigate better than me). Only got turned around at #6 but the rest went quite well.

Learned something new about "uncrossable fences". But wasn't the only one I hear. :)

Lots of fun and well worth the harrowing drive .

hiking 2:30:00 [3]

Geocaching with Debbie and Cheryl on the trans canada trail near Coopers's falls. A gorgeous hike through forest and barrens with some nice views. These geocachers always put out nice caches that are well worth the hikes.

At the turn around point we stopped to have our lunches of sandwiches and hot cocoa with marshmallows, whipcream and vanilla sprinkles. Yum!!

stretching (IT band) 30:00 [0]

Ever since I started trail running again in the fall, my left IT band has been complaining, a lot. My right one has been jealous and started as well. I've been instructed to stretch them waaaay more. Not just 5 or 10 minutes on running days.

So I thought I'd better start recording....
