xc skiing 1:00:00 [3]

Note

Another gorgeous, sunny day with fresh snow on the trees in Muskoka!
-15 & 10" new snow

Waited till after 10:00 to go skiing, hoping that the trails would be groomed. But was disappointed when I started and hurt my ankle in a wobble on the ungroomed track. However, met the groomer halfway through my ski and smooth sailing after that.Absolutely beautiful in the woods with all that snow!

snow shoe 55:00 [5]

Note

Couldn't resist!
Someone has to cut the trails after another snowfall, right?
Must remember to watch out for branches as the snow gets higher and the branches lower. Ouch!

** superwool socks much too hot. Not good for my blisters from the other day.

snow shoe 3:00:00 [5]

Note

Gorgeous day for a long snowshoe. Blue skies and fresh snow on the trees.

I did our trails 3 consecutive times , which is the most so far by any of us

1st time : 57 min.
2nd time : 53 min. which was a surprise 'cause I did them backwards this time which is harder with the steeper climbs.
3rd time: 53 min. I really pushed hard here. I was tired and by this lap had a blister.

Overall, very pleased with my accomplishment.

snow shoe 1:30:00 [3]

Note

Did the entire three loops with Cheryl. Gorgeous mild day which after having to cut the first loop was pretty warm. Hopefully it doesn't stay warm for too long or the pond loop with all its creeks and gullies will become inaccessible.

snow shoe 20:00 [1]

Note

Night snowshoe, the small loop with my daughter Danielle. Because it was short, I think she enjoyed it. Plus it was very mild out.

Ofcourse ,me fumbling on Larry's big snowshoes was pretty entertaining for her.

biking 30:00 [3]

Note

Finally set up the trainer! Hopefully biking doesn't aggravate that herniated disc. So far so good.
But I have to ask...why are the seats on road bikes so much more uncomfortable than the mountain bike ones? Generally you go for longer rides on the road bike, no?

xc skiing long 2:25:00 [4] 17.0 km (8:32 / km)

Note

The plan was to do a longer distance at a slower pace. However, it appears I didn't stick to the lower pace. The trails weren't well groomed and I spent the whole time trying to improve my technique ( which I'm convinced sucks). Might benefit from some instruction....

Still, I was pleasantly surprised when I figured out the time and distance.

...a few parts ( right knee, both hip flexors) were complaining but recovery was good.

Note

Have to make a conscious effort to stretch ...therefore better record it.

Looking forward to my hot tub tonight!

Note

Realized my error with the time. Not such a fast ski after all. But it didn't seem to add up. Oh well...
