hiking 45:00 [3]

Earely morning hike with Sandi at Hardy Lake. The short loop 'cause she has a sore foot.

Ankle pretty much better. No swelling last night. Just in time for Thomass Kickoff.

biking 35:00 [3]

Rainy day so a good time to get on the trainer now that it's set up (with t.v.)

Finding the road bike quite uncomfortable so I think I should make some adjustments.

strength (core) 10:00 [2]

Note

Ankle is a lot better. I forgot about it when I first got up till I hurt it. So it doesn't hurt to bear weight on it. The stairs are a little tender though.

running 1:05:00 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (20:00 @3) + (40:00 @4)

Hardy Lake, big loop. Seems to be my new favourite area.

Beautiful morning for my "inspired by Bash" run. Although my long run is nowhere near Bash's 3 hours ,but challenging none-the-less.
Went over on my ankle at one point and hobbled along for about 50 meters worrying that I'd never be in time for my massage appointment. But I pushed through and all's well.

Actually made pretty good time from what I could remember of running the big loop last year.

IT bands pretty tight for which I'll have to do some extra stretching tonight and bring out the foam roller. Massage helped quite a bit (plus I had a bit of a nap). :)

Note

4pm. I spoke too soon. My ankle /foot is pretty sore right now. But not much swelling , so that's good.

mountain bike 1:58:49 [3] 23.29 km (5:06 / km)

Larry and I headed up to just north of Dorset, along highway 35, and biked a snowmobile trail up to the Oxtongue Rapids Trail , along highway 60 (and back). We started at about 9:30 and it was pretty chilly!

The distance wasn't that far but the ride was Crazy!!! Tons of river rock and sand. Plus very hilly. I don't think we knew what we were in for.
My triceps and forearms were hurting at the end from trying to keep steady on the downhills and pulling up on the uphills.

At one point ,while climbing, I looked at my odometer which read 4km/h and noticed the sign that said "slow". I felt a little insulted.

At the Oxtongue Rapids we rested at the picnic area and drank some coffee before heading back. Pretty spot and a great sunny day!

We finished at around 12:15 and drove over to Fox Point road to see if there were any deer around. We saw 5 that survived this hunting season. Yeah!!
