paddling 1:30:00 [3]

Parc Du Bic. Debbie and I battled wind and waves to get to a remote beach where we enjoyed looking for tumbled glass and chillaxing. Two friendly seals accompanied us part way.

hiking 2:00:00 [3]

Around the village of Pierce Rock and down the mountain after catching a ride up from a friendly french couple in a 4x4 truck. When we started the hike we passed some people that wished us luck. And we wondered why... it was so steep that the walk down was very tricky.

paddling 3:00:00 [3]

Signed up for a guided kayak tour to see the seals in Forillon National park. What a gorgeous park with it's mountains and coastline! Our guide was pretty good with his english although a lot of the information i guessed at because it wasn't translated, The seals are very curious and come pretty close. One even pushed the back of my kayak! On the way back to the boat launch we spotted a whale. We paddled out a bit to get closer and watched for a while. however, the whale watching kept us out till after the winds came in from the sea so the paddle back was a bit more of a challenge.

hiking 2:20:00 [3]

Hiked one of the trails to the lookout tower. What a view! And quite the climb. From the tower you could see the coastline of NFL , Pierce Rock, Gaspe and much of the St.Llawrence.

mountain bike (mostly road) 1:47:32 [3] 28.0 km (3:50 / km)

Forillon national Park. We first set out to bike the MTB trail that cuts through the heart of the park from south to north. But we aborted this goal after 2 1/2 km because it was mostly rail trail. Drove to the gate at the south end and biked the coastline up to the light house. The last 4 kms is offroad trail of which the last section is pretty steep. i told Debbie that i did not think we had enough gears for this hill. At the top, by the light house people applauded our success :)

paddling 1:10:00 [3]

On our drive down to Forillon National park we decided to squeeze in an hour of kayaking at Bic National Park. It was extremely foggy but the water was calm. Nice break from driving.

mountain bike 35:00 [3]

A little break from driving in Dame du Portage to explore the little back streets along the coast. Beautiful!
