Wonderful evening skate with Sandi on the ice skating trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park. On Saturday nights they line the 1.3 km loop with torches.
It has been at least 3 or 4 years since I've been on skates, but after the first loop I felt confident. The only funny thing was that I've never skated uphill. My shins were killing me on the first loop. They flood a trail in the park, so it's not level like a lake or an arena rink. Skating uphill is a whole new experience!
What a great way to spend a Canadian winter's night. Although, again, chilly -20 with the wind chill sitting at -31

This is the second Thursday in a row that I wake up a bit sore and pretty tired. So a slow start. It's my strength training day and I may finally get out on the skis again. We'll see...


It's good to be back on AP because, as I review the last week or so, I can see that I really do have a fair bit of activity logged.
No wonder I'm tired!

Great sunny day for a ski although very, very cold! There was no glide but that made us work harder so we warmed up nicely ;)


Can't wait for my Atlas Race snowshoes to come in! I have a hill I plan to train on.
Thanks to a little motivating hill on the Snowshoe Raid ;)

Had to support the new instructor with lower intensity options for the class so my workout was a little less intense, But another great, energetic class!

With the temps at -34 (without the wind chill) I decided to skip a ski or snowshoe and attend another yoga class. Only a 40 minute class but pretty intense.

Glad to attend someone else's class so I could focus more on my own posture and breathing. My body needed to work on flexibility after the weekend.

Blizzard conditions! Big loop at Hardy Lake. Craziest weather I've ever snow shoed in. Glad the crockpot was ready with chili when we came home.
