Running 40:00 [2]
Ran with Special-K today. Easy run around the University area. Planning to race 2-3 ARC races with K and boyfriend Tiny Tim late in the season. Looking forward to doing more training with K as the summer season comes. Beautiful day outside...wish i didn't have to be indoors editing my thesis. Tollund ripped it apart real good ... i like his no shit honesty though.
Cycling (commuting) 20:00 [2]
Commute to school - not real training but adding these anyway. Exercise is exercise.

Cycling 30:00 [2]
Lite biking on some roads. Loosen up legs from yesterdays Raid. Surprisingly not sore, might be due to not running all the time yesterday but i think it was the prep up to it - better carb loading than in the past. Felt really good all yesterday and decent today. I think my running is getting stronger in general. Good to get back on the bike too.

Orienteering 7:30:00 [3]
Raid the Giant Rib. Awesome course but time this time around wasn't so hot - worse Raid since the first one i did.

One member of the team was hurting really early into the race reducing the pace to run-walk. That set the tone early. Really hurts your chances when numerous teams pass you and you want to go faster. But i've hit that stage before so i understand there is nothing to do but bite your lip.

Two missed controls in Stage 5 is what broke the team in terms of a respectable time and right out shit time. Control 11-12 missed. On bearing and saw all the features leading to 11 but somewhere on the way got off track and literally lost. A number of teams were struggling in there but i was surprised that 6 eyes missed the control.

Major disappointment for me especially...probably should take it so hard since i wasn't the only one navigating. Lessoned learn i guess, although not the way i wanted to be.

Thinking of breaking up the team for the Raids and finding or creating one more competitive. Need to see what i can do with a team with goals, push the limits and see how fast we can push it. Hate to ditch friends but need to know what i really can do on an individual level and team oriented level.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]
GHO spring training session. A little off at the start of the session and became better throughout. Mineral Springs always a tricky course, made some obvious errors but finished in a pretty good time. Intensity a 3 but 4 in the second half. Killer climb at the end. Should be in good shape for the Raid on the weekend.
