Sunday Nov 27

Note
(sick)
Still sick, head just aches but nothing mroe serious than a head cold. Picked up the rollers from Fossil...umm death on bearings is all i can say. Going to attempt to learn how to use them properly in the next week. Looks like one of those things you need to get a hang of before jumping the gun and going hardcore on them. Requires some serious balance.

Decided to give the rollers a go. Took about 15min to get use to them and fairly smooth sailing there on. Still all over the place at times since any small movement throws you right across the rollers and possible injury flying off of them. Should be a good tool to cross train with in the winter. And i got them for free so can't complain.

Saturday Nov 26

Note
(sick)
Came down with a big sinus cold late yesterday. After feeling a bit crappy since Tuesday i knew it was coming. Been sleeping all day and the sinus headaches are still not going away. Oh well, not much you can do at this point.

No Thomass this weekend or training for me for till this goes away.

Tuesday Nov 22

Running 25:00 [1]
Warm up/ Cool down
Running 35:00 [5]
ahr:175 max:193
Figure8 intervals at Chedoke. 1-2-1-2-1-2 sets.

Time: 3:35-3:58/3:33-3:34-3:43/3:31-3:35-3:44/3:26. Rest periods in between around 1min.

Wasn't feeling too hot tonite but consistant with the time. Above target zones that i set but is expected with intervals, cool tool though to see % time in each zone that you set. Probably more useful when setting long runs by yourself or doing intervals alone.
Note
Watched Rick Mercer's Report tonite and had a big segment on Chruchill and Winnipeg that would have made MrPither happy. Polar bears and Pegger's being the toughest cold weather folk. Apparently there is a dude called Dr. Popsicle that studies the effects of cold water (i.e. falling thru ice) on the body at UM. You Pegger's like the cold and crap you got a lot of snow already ;)

Cycling 40:00 [3]
ahr:150 max:175
Short road ride. Warmer day out than i thought but strong headwind.

Cleaned and put it away the MTB for the season. I'm liking road biking much better than MTBing so i foresee a decrease on the trails in the future.

Saturday Nov 19

Orienteering 2:00:00 [4]
ahr:177 max:196
Tree Hugger Invitational. GHO MAC GHO sweep by Hammer (male solo), Nina (female solo), Tiny and Pixie (coed), Meridan and Fossil (open male) and the Griz even got the 'suck it up princess' award for most burrs!! Good times and a fun and fast course set by Bash. Bent and Bash thanks for the hospitality and good eats!

Trying to figure out this new HRM thing, plotted the exercise and looks pretty cool, meaning there is a lot of info that can be taken from it.

Thursday Nov 17

Running 35:00 [3]
Fast run on the South Shore Trails with StrackAttack. Lots of trees down on the trail between MAC and churchill.

Pretty cool with the snow falling and looking out on Cootes. Nice day out eventhough its really windy.

Tuesday Nov 15

Running 1:00:00 [2]
TNT with NevMonster, Hammer, MrPither et al. and TVP. Easy run picking up a couple of controls from the weekend. Real rainy and foggy!

Hard upstair climb with Hammer to end the nite. Felt real good.

Monday Nov 14

Cycling (Recovery) 55:00 [2]
Nice easy pace although there were some hills involved. Working out anything in the legs. Felt good when i woke up, just a few hamstring hurts and glutes.

Sunday Nov 13

Event: Raid the Hammer

Orienteering 4:45:00 [3]
RTH with StrackAttack and MrHenderson. Awesome day since the weather held out. Great course set by Hammer. Came down again to 4-6mins. Teams 4 thru 7 were 4mins apiece fighting for those positions. Fighting with Nevigation and Running Free, Nevmonster and Co. pulled it right close to the end and ran away from sight (great ending!). Really enjoyed the course, felt really great out there - usually i'm hurting but none of that this time around. Past 2 Raids have been good to me, i think i'm figuring out how my body reacts to hard racing.

MrHenderson got us there with no real problem, i was just the side kick for this one again this year. I kind of like it that way.

Saturday Nov 12

Running 40:00 [1]
Really easy run with StrackAttack, MrHenderson and MrAnderson. Out and back to Iroquois from the Anderson's. Rat Tunnel looks a bit waterfilled!

Too bad its suppose to rain tomorrow, today is such a beautiful day!!

Thursday Nov 10

Running (with orienteering) 1:00:00 [3]
Orienteering/running intervals at Chedoke with TVP, Griz, Hammer and Sudden. Downhill orienteering and uphill running. Each O course started higher than the next. Finished with a full stair climb at the end. Good workout although my nite o is a bit rough.
Note
Heel of foot feels much better. Worked in the new shoes and feel alright so far. Going to run a at least one more short run before the Raid.

Wednesday Nov 9

Note
4 days till the raid. Resting up the heel on my foot, a little tender from being in o-shoes on sunday all day (not the most comfy shoes). So decided to buy some new kicks today and probably will test them tomorrow if there is a TNT run. So far are the cheapest and probably most comfy pairs of shoes i've bought. Outlet stores rock.

Sunday Nov 6

Running 1:10:00 [2]
Dundas Peak with StrackAttack and MrHenderson
Note
Walking around the valley for a nav clinic with Nina. Feet tired from being out all day, not really training but felt like it. At least got to focus on map reading myself.

A little scary, the wind was/is blowing like a s.o.b out there, we saw 2 trees fall around us and almost wrapped up the clinic. Pretty strong wind storm in the valley, should be a bit of trees fallen for next weeks race.

Cycling 50:00 [2]

Thursday Nov 3

Running 1:00:00 [4]
TNT Thursday winter edition. Fartlek i'm gathering from the changes in pace. One hell of a killer work out, thought i was going to puke with the last escarpment hill. Sudden is keeping everyone on their feet.

Joe, TVP (apparently aka SuperCock?!), Hammer, MrPither and Fossil were in the house.

Wednesday Nov 2

Running 30:00 [2]
5k with StrackAttack to breakup the day at school
