Easy one in Cootes with TVP and Greta. A little stiff from yesterday, shows how much speed training i've done this year (i.e. zero).

What a gorgeous day out today! This is why Autumn is my favourite season of the year. Warm breeze and fabulous sunshine. Beats the fleece and long johns i was in up north this weekend.

Chedoke-Iroqouia Loop. Felt sluggish at first after being off for a few days and then just picked it up to race pace tempo. I think i'm a little dehydrated after the cottage i.e. beer to water ratio favoured the former.

LaSalle Sprint. Pooched number 2 otherwise a solid run. Not exactly sure of time on this one. Figure i lost 2min at 2.

Beer with TVP afterwards to catch up on old times.

Chedoke-Iroquois. Rt hammy tight through the whole run from the sprint yesterday. Nice drizzle but deceivingly humid out.

A movie starring Natasha Henstridge filming at the top of stairs in one of the houses.

Tested the Elite mens sprint course at Mac for Hammer. Can't say much except its fast and furious and definately a fun course! Winning time estimated at 15 min, ran it in 18.5 without doing speed work in a very very long time.

Running race 2:00:00 [4]

5Peaks Albion 21k (enduro + sport courses). A nice wet run which wasn't really technical but rather a long boring run encompassing a lot of double track and grass running (boo!) like XC. I guess they couldn't get access to the single track due to MTBing. Overall a decent race with some serious man eating puddles in the last 4k.

Only peeve was the the course marking at the end where you had to run up a hill and take a hard right down hill. While most of the course was well marked (and overkill in some sections), i don't understand why they didn't either flag it more obviously or put a big arrow sign telling you to go right. They had a marshall who at the bottom of the hill who told me in passing that you had to go up hill then down hill before the finish period. When i got up to the top you could have either went left or right, however the flagging clearly indicated left going further uphill with uphill being the key phrase. Since i was on my own i chose left when it was actually right to a downhill. After figuring out that i wasn't on course i headed back to find the marshall on the false hill top directing traffic (WTF!!). Not that i'm bitter however i am disappointed since it cost me 1st on the podium for my age cat. where i ended up 2nd. The 1st place guy was 1 minute faster than me. I figure i lost a soild 2-3 mins. Thats life;) Good way though to end off the season..unless i get roped into doing something else big.

Check out this trail race in the fall. Night Trail Race

Note
Entered the 5peak Albion 21k. Last "big" race of the season. Going to just have fun at this one. I'm just out of the running for a podium 3rd in my age cat points for the 10k so decided to to the longer one instead. Should have done the Dundas race in retrospect.

Interestingly i saw one of my old roommates today as a new grad student.
