Able to sneak out for a hike/scramble on Nihahi Ridge with the Strackersons. Frigg'in scorching hot today. The sun was equally intense. Might have turned another shade of brown today. Now for more packing blah. Not quite the long weekend I had in mind.

Rented the film Control about Ian Curtis. Really good film about Curtis and Joy Division but focuses solely on him. Very different from 24 hour party people. The main actor plays a sick version of Ian. Hammer I think you'd like.

Busy weekend of running errands but luckily was able to hit Fish Creek Provincial finally before dropping off the rental. Ran the west end. Decent but couldn't hook up enough single track sections. Like any other Calgary park large portions are paved. Be interesting to see an O map for the single track trails.

Was a little worried that the feet weren't going to hold up from the thrashing I gave it on Fri. Tender but not too bad. Did a decent padding job on the open wounds.

Strong headwind home.

A microwave blew up in our department today over lunch hour. The smell of burnt toast lingered all afternoon. Apparently smoked filled the halls and there are no smoke detectors nor sprinkler systems in the main area of the floor - talk about safety issues. Much to my disappointment the place didn't burn down. Guess I have to go to work tomorrow. Poo poo.

Afternoon run with Tara. Felt good and nice way to break up the day. Canadian Environment and Commuter Challenge week kids. Saddle up the bike, walk, telecommute or transit to work.
