Saturday May 29

Running 2:30:00 [3]
Suplhur Springs 25km Trail run. Good race finish just under 2.5hrs like i wanted so that was good for me. I usually run a 10km/hr at my snail pace. Considering i was about 20mins off of a medal in my division thats not too bad for a non-runner and poor preparation for this race

Tarno again wins followed by Maggie. And surprisingly Tarno's daughter won her division followed by Tindale! EAS sweeping up medals as usual...incredible!

Wednesday May 26

Note
Going to lay off the running till race day. Body feels real sluggish today so going to rest it up and carb load till saturday.

Tuesday May 25

Running 25:00 [3]
Fast run in the neighbourhood (city running). Trying to ease off a little before Saturday. Felt pretty good today considering i felt sluggish during the day.

Monday May 24

Running 40:00 [2]
Modified section of the Sulphur Springs trail run. Beautiful in the valley today do to the rain giving life to the streams, also cool and misty in some sections. Saw Strack-attack and D.Jr. and Sr. trucking up Sulphur Springs Rd as i was driving down to the valley. Like i said beautiful day out so far!

Sunday May 23

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]
Biking @ Albion Hills. Lots of climbing and crazy single single track in wet muddy conditions due to this craptastic rainy long weekend. Cleaning the bike was a b#$h!

Saturday May 22

Note
Giving myself a rest day plus its crappy cold out. Body feels the pain from lack of sleep or something. Trail riding tommorrow at Albion with my AR team and will need to run mon-thurs and rest till Sat. for the race.

Friday May 21

Cycling 50:00 [3]
commute
Running 1:00:00 [2]
Mineral Springs run. Tested the shoes without my custom insoles, much better and no blisters. Still to work them in a little bit more but a solid shoe so far.

Thursday May 20

Note
Raining out. Will have to put in some time on the long weekend. Registered for the Sulphur Springs 25km next Sat. Should be a fun time

Wednesday May 19

Cycling 50:00 [3]
Commute

Tuesday May 18

Weights 20:00 [1]
Lite core and upper work with excercise ball...really effective work out due to stability on the ball

Monday May 17

Running 45:00 [2]
Did second portion of the Sulphur Springs rail run, legs felt good but was working in a new pair of XA pros IIs. First impression is that its a soild shoe in terms of stability and the flexibility in the fore foot is great. Problem is that my insole is a tad fat and doesn't go down as far as in my Montrail. Result: really tender inner arches due to some serious rubbing and formation of blisters...i was mid way into the run and thought to be a tough guy and grit it out...like matches in my shoe! Going to let them heal for a few days and use the insoles they came with. Hoping that its not the width of the shoe which is the problem or else i screwed myself out of some serious cash!
Note
If can keep a consistant pace, i think i can finish the Sulphur Springs run in 2.5 hrs (goal) but for sure 3 hrs or under. Will probably register in the next few days.

Saturday May 15

Running 1:20:00 [2]
Mineral springs run in the Valley. Testing out if the legs can handle doing the Sulphur Springs 25km at the end of the month. Felt good, so might register. Did the second loop portion of the race. Will do the first portion next weekend. Averaged 2 with some 3s in between.

Spring training at Hilton Falls. Technical course, but faired well. Took my time on the long sections and proved to work out. No major errors.
