Running 45:00 [3]
Running with Hammer in Baie Comeau PQ. We'll say a 3 for intensity due to bog running and beach running in a fierce head wind in pouring rain.

Running 45:00 [3]
Running with Hammer in Baie Comeau. Neat little trail system near the water with some sprints in between.

Orienteering 17:00 [4]
Scenic-Sprint. Sub 17, could have been cleaner but didn't bring contacts so i couldn't see had to slow/stop into the area of the control. Hammer i don't know how you race without contacts!Plus i punched a couple which we didn't need to do. Congrats to TriHard, you beat me this time but i'll be back in the Fall for the finals...just getting my points to qualify ;)

Running 20:00 [1]
Lite warm-up. Haven't run for a week. Been really busy and this week will probably be the same
Orienteering 1:30:00 [3] ****
Hilton Hardrock O. Tested out the new spikes, might be overkill for the rocky terrain as well as a thumb compass. I really like the compass, find it easier to follow along the map as well assoiciating it with the colour is easy. Will have to test it out more in the Fall. Scary to think i'll be away from all things orienteering for awhile...

Note
Even though the weekend comprised of crappy weather and crappy orienteering on my part, realized that i have much to work on. The weekend was quite humbling. Coach Griz and Hammer offered some insight and there was good discussion on a number of items and areas to improve. Good weekend with the boys which made up for disappointing runs. Still a young pup in this sport. Will take another stab at more A meets in the future. On a high note i finally got O-shoes at the meet. They would have been valuable for the weekend, most likely test them out at the Hard Rock this weekend - Undecided if i'm going at this point.

Orienteering race 2:00:00 [3] ****
Day 2 WP. Just a bad day. DNF or DFL by others. The weather was better, visibility was so much farther than yesterday. Should have capitalized and ran better but halfway through the course i somehow overshot control 8 and never ever recovered. 40mins trying to relocated. After finding it i punched and went home. Frustrated, tired and not mentally into it at that point. Would have been fun to finish the course, the other legs weren't bad. Just a major f*%$-up on my part. I still can't figure out how i missed the catching feature.
Running 20:00 [2]
Warm-up with the Griz. Nice garbage fill run with a dose of deer carcus to boot!
