| Cycling 1:30:00 [2] | ||
| Enjoying the warm weather. Saw Cindy Klassen walking out of the Oval as I rode by. Should have asked her if she wanted a double-ride;) | ||

| Was going to be a high tempo but Tara started to cramp up in the leg which was good for me since I don't know if I could have held the tempo for an hr. Seriously need to go back to the basics and do intervals again. Good clip though. Awesome day out
Got back to the office and shit hit the fan. Time for some splatter control.

| Yoga 1:30:00 [3] | ||
| Extremely different from yesterday. This dude was just nuts from the start. Key line of the day "find the 'sit' bones on you butt, there are two of them, they're like buttons, poke em and play with them". That got a few good laughs for obvious connotations. Yoga instructors are a bit strange. | ||

| Yoga 1:30:00 [2] | ||
| Decided to give this a go since I've been interested in it for awhile and finally heard actually good things about the studio close to me. Classes actually run for 90min and boy was that hot room steaming. Don't think i've sweat that much in a long time, almost too hot and was drenched when I came out. Yoga is actually tougher than I thought especially on some of the balancing poses. Not sure if i was engaging the right muscles at time since I was trying to learn the poses but definately know where I'm weak in the muscles from that class. Left side is so not strong. But I have a week pass to try out different classes and teachers so I'll give it a shot. Hoping this helps with running and flexibility and just something new to keep me busy. | ||

| Running 1:00:00 [4] | ||

| Zero Carbon (aka the climate change run club). Tara decided to start a running group so it was her, Shawn, Kate and I for the inaugural run. Sweet Jebus Tara and Shawn are fast. Race pace run for me for 3/4 of the run and red lined a few times on the hills. I guess Shawn is training for New York and Tara for Vegas, not sure what I got myself into. Nosehill Park Loop. | ||

| Very easy cruise enjoying the nice weather. | ||
Saturday Oct 13 | ||
| Cycling 50:00 [2] | ||
| Decent day outside. Easy spin. A bit uncomfortable due a late lunch and beer at the pub.
| ||
| Note | ||
| I officially own a pair of classic xc skis. Dave and I headed out to MEC and dropped some cash. I got a pair of Madshus and he got a pair of skate skis. I'm sure Strack is going to shoot him since i was explicitly told not to let him get another pair of skis...meh, not like I have to sleep beside her:) | ||

| Running 30:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Axiom 2 (Green) | ||
| Felt pretty grumpy when I got home didn't even want to get out the door. Decided on a 30min power nap then go for a run. Surprisingly once I started it was one of the most fluid runs I've had in months. Clicked on all cylinders from the get-go and just went with the flow. Felt pretty damn good. Some type of late evening 5 & 10K on the Bow happening tonight since there was a lot of set up and markings for a run. | ||
Thursday Oct 11 | ||
| Cycling (Spin class) 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Decided to enroll in a spin class every Thursday over lunch hour. Not too bad for a first time class. Lots of hill type of intervals so a 2/3/4 intensity scale type of ride. UofC has nice facilities. | ||
Tuesday Oct 9 | ||
| Running 50:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Axiom 2 (Green) | ||
| B8 Loop. Started off real sluggish but after my normal half-hour warming of the gears the pace picked up considerably. Beautiful fall day. | ||
Monday Oct 8 | ||
| Note | ||
| Was planning to run the Benchlands in Canmore but there was little too much bear activity in the area so didn't want to roll the dice on that one. Instead I went to Banff and Canmore for the day. Since I had a rental drove around and did the Lake Minnewanka route (or mini-wanker as I've been amusingly told). Note to self: have to bike that route next year once i some bigger gears to do the climb. Awesome scenery and turned out to be a nice day. | ||
Sunday Oct 7 | ||
| Cycling 1:00:00 [1] | ||
| Stretching the legs. Starting to get warm out with this 'Chinook'. Although I would just classify it as a warm day since it hasn't been that cold here. Sat up on the Bow escarpment for awhile looking at the juxtaposition of the city and the snow capped mountains in the background. Neat stuff. | ||
Saturday Oct 6 | ||
| Hiking (6hrs total) 2:00:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: Montrail CD | ||
| Tombstone Pass and lakes in Kananaskis. The drive in was foggy and very eerie. At the parking lot we saw two dudes telemark in. Hmm was the first thought. Least to say as we got further in the snow started to get higher and higher. Hiking in snow isn't quite as fun but we decided to to it and finished a 22km loop in the end. Tough going in some sections and I was doing some serious trail breaking. Highest sections were about half calve height (1 foot) with an average of ankle deep powder. Thank goodness for the seal skins or I would have died in the trail runners. For the most part you could have snowshoed or xc skied 3/4 of this hike. I would equate it to about the average amount of snow i see in the Dundas Valley at the height of winter or damn close to it right now in the deeper backcountry sections. CrAZy! However, the snow in the mountains and terrain made for awesome views and pics and just a good time even if it was probably hovering around 0 C with the windchill there.
Kananaskis village in the end for the normal celebratory food and drink. Kananaskis, I like you, can we kiss at recess. I've come to realize that K-country is totally wicked. -- For Pither and Bash;) Bash I'm sure you'll get tons more in Silver Star

| First time all week that i had the energy to do something.
Amusingly the weather thing currently beside the log says thuderstorms with wintery mix (no sign of the winter mix) and it is probably 3 to -2 with the windchill. Not warm out thats for sure.
