| Christ what a time for the whole apartment complex to lose heat in this weather! When you have a water based heating system and the system breaks and ices over...hmmm hope that its not one of those long cold nights. Mr. Oven, time to heat the place up! Superwes might be knitting a pair those tiny-hats you speak of. |

| 2:30s every 4 x 5. Track/Stair combo. When you wake up and its -48 outside, the Oval sounds like a much nicer option. And when the weather indicator to the right says FRIGID that's an understatement. More like FRE'KIN FU'KIN cold.

| Ended up going to the World Cup XC races in Canmore to watch the skate sprints. All I have to say is Chandra Crawford is amazing. She definitely had home town advantage with the crowd and looked like she was toying with her heats. She's just ripped it on the flats winning it decisively. Gold medal and first World Cup victory. I highly recommend seeing a sprint race if you ever get a chance.
Funny commentator calling the race. Reminded me of Sudden since he was Scandinavian and witty. When people failed to make the A finals he called the B finalists the "Lucky Losers".

 | Hiking (Snowshoeing) 3:00:00 [3] | |
| |
| Wicked day in the mountains. We're getting a fairly big dump of snow in the area and the trails were nice and powdered and an awesome snowfall throughout. Snowshoed the Inkpots which was surprisingly a tough one since its all climb going there. Went with the Strackersons, should have brought poles, got some nice blisters, but had gators. Would have made Zoolander proud. |

| Very different class when you have a 'good' instructor. Unfortunately the old guy switched to the Tuesdays session but we're getting a mix of people for the next few weeks filling in for him which probably will make it interesting. The chick today was a tough cookie and had us working like mad. Lucky she was cute, made up for her sadistic nature;) |

| Was hoping to go to Canmore again today with the Strackersons to ski but just went through a not so fun 48hr stomach bug from eating something bad at that retreat and just have no energy. At least I'm on the mend (I hope). Just need to get hydrated again. Been a rough couple of days. |

| Early bird flight back to Calgary and was pleasantly surprised with the 6C weather today. Felt nice not to bundle up. A little sluggish. |

| Been a funny day so here is a story. As I was at the airport at 6:30AM this old dude sits across from me and decides he would chat me up. After exchanging pleasantries I thought it would be over. However he wouldn't shut his trap and keeps asking me questions. In the process I realized the dude was hammered from booze just from his breath. He asked me about drug tests and if I ever took one and my opinion if cold medication and other over the counter cold meds could be detected. Meh? Sorry never had to piss in a cup for that. Thank goodness the plane boards and I jet for the gate. However I see the old man from PEI sitting behind me on the plane. Safe! Beside me in my aisle is a younger guy whose girlfriend is sitting beside the drunk. I tell the youngster thank goodness I'm not beside him but felt sorry for his girlfriend. But the friendly east coast nature in Mr. PEI Vodka-Potato decides to exchange seats with the boyfriend - i shake my fist at the youngster in sarcasm and I get stuck with the drunk in the middle seat, while his girlfriend is mouthing apologies to me. Tough break and worse 4hr flight ever. I felt worse for the older lady beside him who got tortured with his chit chat but almost couldn't get out to the bathroom cause we almost couldn't wake him from his booze snooze! I also had to press his reclining button a few time when the stewardess wanted the upright position and when he was struggling to recline it since he thought it was a car was looking for the latch under the seat. I swear he got drunker as the flight progressed but thankfully he eventually passed out. Although I couldn't access my TV controls since the guy hogged the entire armrests - he wasn't a small guy either. Good times.
As an aside, when we landed the captain on the plane gets on the radio and says "we're coming to a complete stop, don't be alarmed by the fire trucks surrounding the plane" Apparently they needed to check out a hotspot on one the tires as an alarm that went off as we landed. That could have been treacherous. Whacky flight. |
