Yowzers this wasn't pretty. Some may say it was Fugly. Easy pace on the Douglas Fir Loop damaging on the legs going up and downhill. Achy in a few good spots. Weather is nice right now with the Chinook.

Bought a cycle trainer today for a sweet deal. Should be a good investment for the winter.

Running 3:45:00 [3]

Epic run with Zoolander. Station Flats to Moose Mountain (first peak) and back. Beautiful morning at the top. Last stretch a bit hurt'in and walky-runy. Aggravated my hip flexor which is annoying. Good times with the Kid Rock - as Simon says, midget, girls, drugs and rock and roll - you can't beat that;)

Bright spot of the election. It can be done in Conservative AB! Well Harps, you couldn't even get a majority when it was handed to you on a silver platter. Thanks for wasting Canadian's tax dollars you douche. Too bad about the lowest turn out ever.

Bit of a lazy week overall. Redeemed myself with a trail run out to Johnston Canyon/Inkpots/JC trail with T, The Marshall and JH to a FCA site (just when i thought I was done). Cold start and even had some sleet! T and I headed back early after a bushwhack to the site. Hammered it to the P-lot to meet up with her parents. Got to try out my new shoes too. Not to shabby for lightweight racer type of shoe - held up well with ample support. Pleasantly surprised - great for training.

Although a bit touristy, J-C is pretty neat - see for yourself.

Thursday Oct 2

Cycling (commute) 40:00 [2]
Nice day out.

Wednesday Oct 1

Hiking 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: Montrail CD
Pretty straight forward in and out to the FCA sites today. More biking than hiking. Spooked by a movement in the woods. Ended up being a cow on a crazy steep slope where we were working. Whew!
Cycling (MTB) 4:30:00 [3]
Thought this was going to be an easy ride and a short day. Nope. Muddy and cattle rutted tracks = tons of hike-a-bike. Hard to get into a rhythm. Wasn't too bad coming back since all the climb was pretty much going in.

Ended up herding cattle for quite a few parts of it. Felt like a cowboy except for the helmet and a metal stead. Felt bad since we were herding them one way while the real ranchers were trying to get them to go the other way - I suspect it was a death march. Amazing that they find all their animals. Saw them off trail in some really interesting places. As well never in my life have had so much shit splattered on me while biking. Damn cow paddies. Tough to avoid. Got to love Alberta free range beef.
