Hiking (6hrs total ~3hrs of up) 3:00:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail CD
Mt. Allan (2819m). 1.4K vertical gain in 7.3K to the top. Getting to the top of this wasn't too bad once on the ridge but the initial climb up to Olympic summit at Nakiska was a be-atch!

Time to climb like the sign man says. Big steps.

Looking on the ridge to the summit. Mid way up are the rock pinnicles.

Where's Meridian? Giant pinnacles.

Sherpa at work taking some photos of the clients

At the top. Surveyor marker at my foot. But I like the cairn better.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Axiom 2 (Green)
B5 loop. Felt tired and probably visibly tired. Hammies and calves tight.

Needed rest day yesterday but all this lab moving is taking its toll. Maybe if i scream union or health and safety they'll hire someone to do a movers work. I guess this is what is meant under the job description "and other tasks". I'm tempted to fake a back injury and see what would happen, man would heads roll faster than a bowling ball.

On a good note thankfully my mom is good to go. All tests show that there isn't anything too wrong and hopefully some pills will control the problem they see and no surgery will be required. Apparently if they found something during the scope test they would have done open heart surgery right then and there. I can sleep much better now. Thanks to those who sent me personal messages, really appreciated them.

To and from work. Either way have to get out of the Bow Valley to get to work decided to do it right from the start. Bad move. It hurt.

Cycling (commute) 25:00 [1]
Dropped off the rental but decided to haul my bike to ride to work and back. This week is going to suck at work if it was anything like today.

Sunday Sep 9

Hiking (5.5 hrs total, 2hrs up) 2:00:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail CD
So I decided to do a hike to summit Mt. Burke with the Strackersons after Saturday's doozy. So Mt. Burke is named after a Denis Charles Burke a former NW Mounted Police officer in 1919 who had a ranch below the mountain itself. In 1929 the Alberta Forest Service established a fire tower at the summit (2643m) which still exists today but was decommissioned in 1953. Poor horses that hauled that wood up there!

The hike itself started in a river valley but was ill marked. We unfortunately did aparallel error up the wrong creek (trust me it wasn't obvious with the trees) and added an extra 40 min to our adventure trying to find this route up the ridge. When we finally got started going up it gained in a hurry and had quite a dusting of snow at higher elevation. I even had time to practice some snow angels!

At the top it was picturesque as you can tell and the hut looked like a little sherpa shack in Nepal. Fun hike despite being tired.

Note
Hammer - we went to this place called Marvello's Soda Shop in Butt-F nowhere Alberta. When i walked into this place I was like, where is Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace! The menu had stuff like, the Big Bopper Whopper, Peggy Sue, the La bamba, Buddy Holly burger etc etc. The waitresses were all dressed in the attire and everything. Trippy. But to top it all off they had a $4.00 shake, however I don't know if it was worth the 4 dollars
