PE (Personal Survival) 40:00 [3]

Did personal survival circuits!
So one station was the help position and another was treading water etc
some were kinda easy but others were really hard.

Circuits (Weights) 45:00 [4]

Was a weights session this week
For warm up did a bit of running
Then it was a weights session, so not as tiring as aerobic, but still good, was quite tired tho. But chatted a bit with Bex and took my mind off of it.
Then did sit ups and one where we took a weight bar on every other sit up
Then we had to leave early cos it was Mikes (my coaches) birthday and they were giving him a present at tring and we went to give him a card.

Monday Mar 30, 2009 #

PE (Netball) 1:00:00 [3]

Last netball training of this year, we started doing this passing drill in teams of 7, and then tag netball, and i was the last person in my team to not be tagged :) but it was v tiring. Then for the rest of the lesson we played a game and i got to be WA so it was good. But the other team won by 1point in the last like 2 mins, which was a bit rubbish but oh well. And i was pretty tired from the weekend.

Orienteering race (Spring Cup Relay) 36:26 [4] 4.4 km (8:17 / km)

This was better than yesterdays run, I always do better on relays!
Didn't feel physically tired from yesters but didn't sleep well.
4.Had to find an indistinct path and was just the wrong side of it so went all the way put to the other veg boundary and had to come back in to it again.
6.Went round the hill the wrong way so wasted time cos it was a v. short leg.
Then just a few small things weren't perfect but it was a good run.
Did the second fastest time on that leg :) and gained my team 4 places.
Bit disappointed I didn't go onto the sand dunes though.

Orienteering race (Spring Cup) 45:15 [4] 5.0 km (9:03 / km)

I had an okay run today, no proper major mistakes but from mistakes i lost about 5 mins. Also maybe could have run a bit faster, but it was a v quick area.
1 started quick but went in a path early
2 never found the indistinct path and really didn't work-lost about 3 1/2 mins on this leg
7 was a bit slow as got dragged down the hill and didnt want to go in OOB
8 there was an extra veg boundary so got a bit confused and started looking too early
Apart from that had pretty average legs, didn't feel any where particularly good, but not too bad. It was the experience that counts! And at the start felt v odd cos was by myself surrounded by people who were speaking danish! And you get started every minute which was odd for me.

PE (Rounders) 45:00 [2]

Did rounders again, but this time for the most of the lesson we did a batting drill thing. Where you got like 5 bats and then swapped round, so you spent most time fielding.

Circuits (Aerobic) 1:00:00 [4]

Was an aerobic session again. For the warm up we did running around and the boxing thing.
Then did half the aerobic circuit then this thing where you did 10 press ups ran and did 10 burpees then ran and did 10 squat thrusts, there was a bit of a rest and did it again- on all we did this 4 times. then back and finished the rest of the circuit.
Then did the normal sit ups and stretching etc

PE (Rounders) 45:00 [2]

Just played a game in rounders, managed to score some half rounders-i can never hit it far enough for a full rounder! and she made us do all positions so i had to bowl- and i did like 15 no balls-it was really embarassing!

PE (Netball) 1:00:00 [3]

Did circuits in netball, so half of them were ball skills (passing shooting etc) and then the other half was shuttle runs and press up etc. it was really hard going and at the end we did some leg toning things, they made my leg ache!

Orienteering (Wendover) 1:05:00 [4] 6.3 km (10:19 / km) +275m 8:28 / km

did the wendover event from saturday, it was really tough! i took some odd route choices, i think because I was tired.
not sure of the exact time because forgot to start the timer, and at number 1 i got to the right spot but didn't think it was right so spent a while looking around for it, but then dad saw the tape from yesterday.

Played some energetic rounders. Im already better than last year :) but not sure if thats really saying anything... For fielding I was out deep, and in batting I managed to score two half rounders.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

Did 10 min run to Pound meadow, then stretching and drills.
For main bit did same as last week- with 10secs then 20 etc did about the same distances which is good.
Then for a warm down jogged around pound meadow and then back to the school.

PE (swimming) 45:00 [3]

Did all breast stroke today, was really boring. Cos we just did it again and again and then i felt like i was doing it wrong. And Mr Meenan only gave us like 5 minutes to get changed...

Strength (Pilates and stuff) 40:00 [3]

Didn't do circuits today cos I had babysitting so did some pilates off my dvd. I still find it really hard but that took me 30 mins and then i did clam for 10 mins. I don't have the elasticy bits yet but i did it without.

PE (swimming) 35:00 [3]

Did some treading water and breast stroke today.

Was a long park/street o around the edge of Milton Keynes. I though it was going to be reallllly tough but wasn't as bad as I thought. The navigation was't too bad either.

Note

Went to see Austin again (gait analysis man) so I got videoed running and walking on the treadmill, we looked at these and also the ones from October,i am much improved :)
Also he gave me some new/altered exercises. First with my dips i now have to try them on a wobble board or similar, or maybe with heavier weights. And off a step too. Then I have to clam too, with stretchy elastic for resistance.

Spent like 10 mins running on the treadmill-it was going quite fast. And then we went through the exercises and i was doing clam for ages!

Doing personal survival in PE again. Was quite tough as we spent like half the lesson treading water, but apparently im good at it :)

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Did a 10 min jog to Pound Meadow. Then stretched and did drills until about 10/5 to 8.
Then did these intervals where we strided for 10secs,had 10 secs rest then had 10 secs to stride back the way we came (to see if we could get back to the start again). Then did 20 secs out, 10 secs rest, 20 secs back. Then 30 secs out, 20 secs rest, 30 secs back, Then had a 5 minute rest and repeated that. Then walk/jogged back to the school. Was tough.

Circuits (Aerobic) 1:05:00 [3]

Did an aerobic session today. Did some boxing and jogging for the warm up. Then did 1 1/2 mins on each station but in between every or every other station we did a staggered shuttle run-1 or 2 of them. and then back to the circuit
was very tough and took too long so didn't do sit ups etc at the end just stretchign for like 5 mins

PE (Badminton) 40:00 [3]

Last lesson doing badminton, was in the dining room with Sophie so was quite energetic and better than playing in the hall.

PE (Basketball) 45:00 [3]

Was also last lesson doing basketball, played some games outside, was allowed to do it mixed boys & girls but that also meant had to run faster from one end of the pitch to the other!

Monday Mar 9, 2009 #

PE (Badminton) 45:00 [3]

Did badminton, was an assessed lesson but I didn't get my score. But he assessed me while I was still warming up and didn't know he was watching me so..
Was quite energetic once I went into the gym and played with Laura and Amy

PE (Netball) 1:10:00 [3]

Started off doing fitness stuff, like sprinting to lines and jogging back, did that for like 20 mins with press ups and stuff too. Then did a few passing drills etc. that involved running for the ball.Then played a game for 20 mins but there was only like 10 of us so we scraped teams of 6 with the coaches involved. First I was GD but finally swapped to WA at the end of the game.

Run 32:15 [3] 5.46 km (5:54 / km)

Went on a run with my Bex took a map of Kyloe to get to know it and to do some visualisation practice.
With the map used the W21 course from when BOC was there. We alternated legs with one person looking at leg and visualising how we would carry out the leg, then handing the map to the other person and describing exactly how we would do it. Then having a bit of a discussion if there was another way of doing it and best attack point etc. Did 17 controls.
Although it was a slow-ish run for Bex found it quite hard as my body was tired from sat and also I still felt a bit ill.

Strength (Austins Exercises) 15:00 [3]

Did lunges, sqauts and dips as normal but used some light hand weights with them. Did while watching Larkrise to Candleford :) But going back to Austin on sat so need to do more exercises before then!

Orienteering (SEJS) 30:00 [3] 2.5 km (12:00 / km)

Long-Short
Had Helen as my coach today. So I had to do this map-memory but had to do like 2 legs at a time which I found very hard. Also forgot to memorise the other leg sometimes! I was very hesitant as I reached the control circle as I was never quite sure what to expect.

Visualisation
Was allowed my map this time :) I had to visualise the control circle before to help me be less hesitant. Went better than long-short and I was more confidant in myself.

Compass
This had some common controls from before but coming from the opposite direction. This again went quite well, some controls I was quite hesitant on.

Short Green
Didn't make any mistakes doing this but I felt really ill so was going slow.

Played a good energetic game of badminton. Felt a bit sick after my jab but played anyway, but then I got hit in the eye by the shuttlecock so spent the last 25 mins of the lesson in the medical room..

Did a body test-my wii age is 19.
Then did some muscle workouts and aerobic ones. Training was cancelled and I was really tired so thats all i did

PE (Basketball) 50:00 [3]

Started with shooting and then did some games. Was outside so was a bit cold so ran to warm up!

Circuits (Weights) 1:00:00 [3]

Was quite a tough weights session, I prefer the weights ones though. Didn't do too much as a warm up, just a jog and stretching. Then did like 3 mins on! and not much rest
The did another half circuit for just a minute. Then did stretching warm down.

PE (Netball) 1:00:00 [3]

Did some passing drills and like that where you run in for the ball.
Then played a game for like 30mins. Was marking Miss Crosland for half of it-tiring! Then swapped to Lambert-it was also tiring and I don't like being goal defence-I like being a wing. But it was alright-quite tired from weekend.

Orienteering race (British Relays) 28:18 [3] 3.5 km (8:05 / km)

Went much better than yesterday.
1)Started very confident knowing I had people to overtake, went well
2)Was a bit right of control but it was alright because I knew that I was right
8)Bit hesitant but kept going and it was alright
9)Worst leg. It was in the green and I went in about the right time-a bit early. Got stuck in green and couldn't find control so came back out and round and found it.
11)Came off path before I should have and got stuck in a bit of green
12)Saw a control before it which put me off, got confused and had to stop to reassure myself. Was nearer assembly than I thought.

2 Positives:
1)Was quickest to alot my legs-think this was due to confidence and planning ahead
2)Managed to overtake everyone on my course on it and didn't let them put me off.
