Orienteering 1:39:34 [3] *** 7.5 km (13:17 / km) +245m 11:25 / km
shoes: Integrators pair 1
DVO district event at Stanton Moor, near Matlock, Derbyshire (England). Heather moreland top with steep wooded sides. Lots of old quarry workings, leading to complex contour and rock features in places. The NE side had lots of tree houses and was generally a mess of trash - turns out it was an old group of "Eco-Warriors" protesting about the possibility of re-opening the quarry.

Had fun, although I made quite a few 1-2 minute (or more!) mistakes, and wasn't very fast. My jet lag, two colds and lack of orienteering recently was definitely showing itself!

Note
Travel day: Colorado - England (arrived Thursday morning).

Tuesday Feb 27

Running 45:48 [4] 5.2 mi (8:47 / mi)
shoes: Asics (pair 2)
Two loops of Washington Park (22:42 and 23:06). Felt stronger than recently although slowed to a walk due to a pain in my right shoulder (which I've had before but not recently) about 1/4 of the way round the second loop. Fortunately it recovered (as it has done before) and I sped up again.

I now have a semi more accurate measure for the distance round the outer trail: 2.6 miles. My speed today felt about right for this distance.
