Saturday Mar 17

Course Setting 2:00:00 [1] ***
More time at Cherry Creek State Park, checking mostly potential green and red controls. Warm (dare I say hot - over 20 degrees C!), and sunny - not muddy like last week.

Plenty of wildlife sightings - mostly deer and Canada geese, plus a couple of magpies.

Thursday Mar 15

Running (Trail) 1:11:05 [4] 6.1 mi (11:38 / mi) +566m 5:37 / km
shoes: Asics (pair 2)
Matthews/Winters Park, from Stegasaurous parking lot. Out via Dakota Ridge Trail, back via Red Rocks Trail. Cold (5 degrees C?), but nice to be able to do a trail run mid week without needing a headlamp (thanks to the early start to daylight saving time). Shoulder thankfully gave no problems (although I guess it would have if it had been a flat road run).

Wildlife sightings: a few deer and a rabbit.

Tuesday Mar 13

Note
Succesfully entered the Pikes Peak Ascent (after all the problems they'd been having with registration). Now I just have to start training! Registration for wave 2 (which I'm doing) filled up in less than 10 minutes (between 6am and 6:10 am MDT)!
Running 46:06 [4] 5.2 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: Asics (pair 2)
2 laps of Washington Park. Warm (20 degree C?), and there were lots of people out. Had the same problem with my right shoulder as 2 weeks ago, which meant I had to slow down and walk for about 30 seconds towards the end. Otherwise a reasonable run, although feeling slightly dehydrated during the second loop (not used to the warm weather!).

This was the first run with no sign of snow since November!

Sunday Mar 11

Cycling 1:34:26 [3] 22.21 mi (4:15 / mi)
Warm springlike day which meant that lots of people were out on the trails. As well as the usual Canada geese and prarie dogs, saw a red fox.
