Saturday May 26

Running 1:49:18 [3] 8.0 mi (13:39 / mi) +366m 7:26 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend
Deer Creek Canyon with Denver Trail Runners (although I was on my own after about 20 minutes). Feeling un-energetic, and generally still tired.

Meadowlark Trail, Plymouth Creek Trail, Plymouth Mountain Trail (clockwise), Scenic View Trail, Homestead Trail, Plymouth Creek Trail, Meadowlark Trail.

Hot later on (when I got out of the trees on the way down). Lots of flowers, but no wildlife sightings.

Friday May 25

Note
Well, a relatively hectic week has lead to another week of little training (plus, as a result I'm not really recovered from the journey back home!).

Tuesday May 22

Running 50:00 [4] 5.2 mi (9:36 / mi)
shoes: Asics (pair 3)
Usual Washington Park workout - lap times 24:15 and 25:45 (still a bit tired from the journey). It had rained earlier and was about 9 degrees C so only Scott, me and two new people were there (funny, in both Texas and England this would be considered perfect running conditions!).

I ran past a Scottish pipe band on the second lap (although they weren't wearing kilts).

Sunday May 20

Orienteering race 1:29:04 [3] *** 5.8 km (15:21 / km) +350m 11:48 / km
shoes: Integrators pair 1
White Ranch - above Golden. A fast, hilly area, with lots of rock features, plus plenty of meadows with lots of small white flowers (Edelweiss?). Fairly slow (due to jet lag, and not being used to being back at altitude) but it was good to get out and compensate for spending 10 hours sitting on a plane yesterday. Made mistakes on 3 controls (1 parallel error, 1 overshoot, and 1 more major error due to lack of concentration). Hot (at least compared with England - not that that would take much!).
C • White flower... 1
