| Motola on a map called "Fustest With The Mostest" near Laramie, WY - set by Swampfox. Rather too hot for orienteering - especially later in the race. Came 5th (behind Neal, Troy, an adventure racer and Sverre). Had Sverre in sight off and on during most of the second half, but couldn't catch him!
Was good to see b0be running again, after his injuries. |

| Mount Galbraith, just NW of Golden, CO. Up Cedar Gulch Trail (20:11), around the Mount Galbraith Loop (26:52), and back down Cedar Gulch (15:03). Trails rocky in places. Felt humid after the desert. |

| Slow run to the post office at the bottom of Kingsbury Grade and back. Time and distance very approximate, but the run did have the distinction of being the first time I've crossed a state line whilst running (California into Nevada, and back again). |

| Riding (on roads but on mountain bikes), from S Lake Tahoe to Emerald Bay. Went past the finish of day one of the US Championships at Fallen Leaf Lake in 2003. You had to look hard to see the effects of the fire. The last bit up the hill to Emerald Bay was on a narrow winding busy road, not very good for biking! |
