Hiking 4:00:00 [2] 7.0 mi (34:16 / mi) +550m 17:07 / km
Hike to Crater Lakes (including the upper lake) from E Portal trailhead. The start was delayed 40 minutes by waiting for a train which was stopped at a crossing over a road to the trailhead. Knee hurting, but got no worse, not even on a very steep downhill. Weather surprisingly British (rain one minute, sun the next). Saw two marmots.
Note
Knee actually felt a lot better after the hike than before it!

Friday Jul 27

Note
Right knee really hurting after yesterday. Not good....

Thursday Jul 26

Running (Trail) 1:25:16 [4] 6.7 mi (12:42 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend
Trail run at Deer Creek Canyon. Feeling much stronger than recently (cooler weather), although my knee was week on the downhills. Saw a fox standing in the middle of the trail on the decent.

Tuesday Jul 24

Running 26:29 [3] 2.6 mi (10:11 / mi)
shoes: Asics (pair 3)
97 degrees F temperatures don't make for good running conditions - at least as far as I'm concerned. Managed 1 lap of Washington Park (clockwise) before the heat got too much for me.
Walking 25:45 [2]
shoes: Asics (pair 3)
Walked most of the way round the inner loop (cut a corner off by the rec center), in lieu of a second loop. Now a bit cooler (ie only 93 or 94 degrees F!).

Sunday Jul 22

Orienteering race 1:32:02 [4] 6.7 km (13:44 / km)
shoes: Integrators pair 1
Red course at Frisco. Right knee hurting a bit after yesterday, especially as there seemed to be a lot of contouring round steep slopes, with my right leg below my left. Hot (despite being above 9000 ft).
Control Pickup 45:00 [1]
Picking up controls on the steepest (and perhaps most complex) part of the Frisco map, after the meet. Not going very fast, but did experiment with different attackpoints than during the two races (I'd been to every control I picked up during either the night or the daytime races).
