Course Setting 45:00 [1] **
Spent about 45 minutes making some minor corrections to the map for next week's event. Hot!

Thursday Sep 6

Running (Trail) 1:14:55 [4] 5.6 mi (13:23 / mi) +405m 6:47 / km
Apex Park on a beutiful evening. Had a good run (for once!), although my knee was starting to hurt on the decent. Climb is actually more than stated, because it doesn't include the climb on the first bit of the Apex Trail. Route was: Apex Trail, Pick N' Sledge Trail (to junction with Sluicebox Trail and Grubstake Loop), Grubstake Loop, Pick N' Sledge, Apex.
Saw two elk (mother and baby) - in the distance. At least that's what someone told me they were - I thought they were regular deer.

Tuesday Sep 4

Running 28:24 [3] 2.6 mi (10:55 / mi)
shoes: Asics (pair 3)
Allergies seem to be back to normal levels, but have no energy. Just one loop round Washington Park (counter clockwise).

Monday Sep 3

Hiking 3:00:00 [1] **
(sick)
Slow hike above Brainard Lake to Isobel Lake (which was mostly dry).

Sunday Sep 2

Orienteering race 2:37:15 [4] **** 13.3 km (11:49 / km)
shoes: Integrators pair 1
Rocky Mountain Scapegoat - near Laramie Wyoming. Swampfox set a course that started with 3 short (2 controls each) loops, and then had a long loop. So everyone started going out in different directions (to add to the confusion some people made 180 degree errors and started out not towards any controls!). The main course consisted of long legs interspersed with groups of short (in some cases less than 200m) legs. It was hot most at first, but then there was a thunderstorm and rain and cold. The storm never moved - everyone encountered it in the same place, and apparently it never reached the start/finish area.
Sprint finish to beat Gordon.
Note
(sick)
Suffering from bad allergies (from the long grass yesterday?). Were worst after the event today.
