Hiking 2:30:00 [1] ** 5.0 mi (29:59 / mi) +300m 15:43 / km
Field day 2 of the CMC Wilderness Trekking School. Map and compass day which I was sort of dreading but it wasn't too bad. Especially when they split us up based on ability and I was with people who had some understanding of contour lines. Before that we were working in a team of differing abilities, and there was one frustrating moment when no-one would believe me as to the whereabouts of one of the "controls".

Weather was cold with snow at times.

Note
My home computer died this morning (fortunately it should be covered by Apple).
Thankfully it happened after the Cherry Creek event, and not before when I was still doing the maps!

Hiking 2:30:00 [1]
First field day of CMC Wilderness Trekking Schools, at Eldorado Canyon. Practiced on boulder fields, tallus and scree (I still get nervous on steep tallus), plus slabs of rock. Plus everyone learnt to triangulate to determine location on a map (I actually helped the instructors with this - although I told one of them I didn't like it when he referred to "shooting an azimuth").

Lots more than 2h30 in the field, but that's the most I think I can put down here.
