| Event: RMOC Sprints at Lake Manitou |
 | Orienteering race (Sprint) 32:28 [4]**** 2 km (16:14 / km) +105m 12:51 / km | |
| shoes: Integrators pair 2 |
| Sprint 1 at Manitou Lake. Had some difficulties getting used to the map (complex spur re-entrant terrain), and lost a lot of time on 3 controls. Not a good run! |
 | Orienteering race (Sprint) 28:45 [4]**** 2.2 km (13:04 / km) +110m 10:27 / km | |
| shoes: Integrators pair 2 |
| Sprint 2 - a much better run. I caught up with a confused looking woman on the way to no 2, and couldn't shake her off in the rest of the race (although I stayed ahead). Some interesting man made objects used as controls (leading to discussion afterwards over their purpose). |
 | Orienteering race (Sprint) 23:23 [4]**** 2.2 km (10:38 / km) +90m 8:49 / km | |
| shoes: Integrators pair 2 |
| Sprint 3 - much easier physically and technically, but getting very hot. I find the 90m of climb a bit hard to believe. |

| Over to a friends house for dinner, where another friend persuaded me to do the Denver Moonlight Classic, so I joined several thousand other cyclists riding round the streets of Denver in the middle of the night. This was the first time I'd ever seen so many bikes in one place(!) - pace was slow!! |

| Good run at Lair of the Bear - Reached the junction for the first time, and came back on the Panorama Trail (which Joe told me about) - was only 10 minutes behind Joe's group at the end. Knee hurting a bit on the long downhill on the way back. |

| Slow run round Washington Park - as I was still tired from the weekend and it was hot. Went clockwise which meant that both water stops were on the second loop (and there was a line for the first one!) Splits were 26:19 and 29:06. |

 | Orienteering 32:26 [1]**** | |
| shoes: Integrators pair 2 |
| Another training exercise set by Ratlaf, this time at Fustest with the Mostest (Laramie, WY). This was called "The Perfect Run". The idea was that you get to walk round the course and then run round it. The run should be a perfect run as you've already been round the course. |
 | Orienteering 16:25 [4]*** | |
| shoes: Integrators pair 2 |
| The run part of "The Perfect Run". Of course nothing is perfect in this world, and having spiked the first 4 controls (having been there before), I got overconfident, and distracted by someone else, and messed up the 5th control! |
 | Orienteering 2:56:16 [4]**** 12.5 km (14:06 / km) | |

| The weekend ended with a blue course at Mook's Marsh. I didn't really enjoy this course - there wasn't enough variety in the legs, and it was too hot (and I ran out of water near the end) - plus I was tired from the rest of the weekend. Lots of sage bush made for slow going. About 3/4 of the way round there was a waist deep river crossing which was refreshing. No problems navigationally (although sometimes my route choice could have been better). |
