Friday Aug 29

Hiking 5:00:00 [2] ** 6.75 mi (44:26 / mi) +1030m 18:44 / km
Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks and High Crag from Gatesgarth. Dry (except for underfoot!) - top of High Crag was just in the mist. Plenty of class 2 scrambling, especially between Haystacks and Scarth Gap.

Thursday Aug 28

Hiking 1:30:00 [2] 5.0 mi (17:59 / mi)
Kirkstile-Pardshaw - actually did it the other way as well (before), but not fast enough to count as training!

Wednesday Aug 27

Hiking 5:30 [2] ** 10.5 mi (32 / mi) +1000m 15 / km
The weather actually cleared up enough to go to some lower summits, so I did Ambleside - Wansfell Pike - Ambleside - Loughrigg - Silver How - Grasmere. I took a wrong turning near the summit of Silver How, and ended up having to do an extra mile, but did get to go on part of one of my favorite ridges as a consequence (from Lang How - Silver How). The terrain on Loughrigg and Silver How was very wet underfoot. This route never got above 1500 ft, but had about 3300 ft of ascent!

Monday Aug 25

Hiking 4:00:00 [1] **
Very wet hike up High Rigg and Raven Crag.
