Whale Peak. Trail to the lake. Then extremely steep ascent on grass / tallus / rocks. Much easier route on the way down (although it looked harder). Lost the trail at one point on the way down from the lake. Only one marmot sighting, but did hear others (or maybe pikas).
Took off 40 minutes for rests (20 at the summit, 20 at the lake on the way down).

DTR at Chimney Gulch. Ran up with Brad (a bit faster than I normally would). Only got to WIndy Saddle because of concerns about running out of daylight.

Long run at South Valley / Deer Creek. Did S Valley first to get it out of the way before it got hot (which it did later on). Saw a small snake and a rabbit in S Valley, and a few black squirrels in Deer Creek. Strangely enough only saw one mountain biker, but several other runners and hikers, and four JeffCo volunteers! The second half of the run was the Fear the Deer half marathon course, which I did in just over 3 hours.
