Orienteering race 2:02:00 [4]

Jukola, 2nd leg in Omega team.I made few mistakes and 3 of them rather big.Totally over 10 minutes.Running felt good and was easy.Forest was full of orienteerers and sometimes it was almost impossible to pass other runners and I had to walk behind them. i managed to raise our position about 300 positions, but without mistakes even 500 would have been possible.
our team did good ending at 650. I am satisfied to that, my own performance was not that good.Next goal is Belgium National Champs in Relay and I try to be in our first team.Before that there is "mountain orienteering" or in finnish Tunturisuunnistus with Virpi and that is important race to me as well.

Omega Training Camp Day 3:
Orienteering in Raasi area. Very demanding terrain and also difficult to run. Legs were tired, but feeling afterwards was good. Running in finnish forest is coming back and also orienteering is getting better. I hope that is same also in Jukola.
Training was composed with 4 loops, each about 2km+/-.

Omega training camp Day 2:
Nice course in Pöytyä. Challenging terrain and some very challenging controls. I noticed that I am becaming more Belgian orienteerer every day. My skills in technical orienteering and also forest running are lost. I hope I will find them...

Omega training camp Day 2:
Technical training with 2 parts. 1st part map with just contours lines and 2nd part with normal map in very detailed hill and all controls on the slope. I was totally lost during the 1st part and I was starting to come desperate, fortunately the 2nd part went better. Also the running is coming better...
Maybe I still have some hope...

First training in Omega training camp. Terrain was used in FinnSpring earlier this year. I was more or less just running around with map and checking some old controls. Good landing to Finland. Legs were tires after long travel (I started 9am from Brussels and we arrived Eura 8.30 pm).

Very fast and easy terrain. I ran 1st leg. It was not my best day, running didn´t feel good. 2 mistakes, one about 45sec and other 30 sec, both because of I didn´t read map correctly (FIrst was mistake with fence and second with river crossing)

15 minutes before intervals and 20 after. Nice weather and it was also nice to run in the middle of the day.

Good training and this time I managed to start easier (90 sec intervals). Still heart rate went rather up. Legs felt tired at the end, but I think this did good for sunday. After Sunday I start to concentrate to Jukola. 2 - 3 interval/race speed trainings and 2 - 3 long ones during those last 2 weeks.
