Green course at Earl's Trails. Bring-your-own-map course set by Phil Bricker with actual orienteering flags but no punching (Thanks Phil.) 4.8k, 250m. Pretty warm with temps in the low to mid-80s.

Mistakes on three controls but finished with twelve seconds to spare. :-) Not careful enough to the first control and lost track of which trails I crossed - fortunately saw and recognized the hill the control was on from a distance. Missed 5 to the right but doubled back when the hill got steeper. Also overshot 10 a bit but realized I was too far down the reentrant. About 4 minutes total.

Excuses if I needed them: 1. It was hot. 2. At control 6 the capsule of my compass popped out of the baseplate, so for the rest of the course I carried the functional part of the compass in my non-map hand while the rest was strapped to my thumb. 3. Legs were tired from running around on the Moreau map yesterday. 4. Actually started and finished at the trail junction NW of the one in the center of the circle, making the course about 40m longer.
