| Day 1 of NEOC Spring Rock Festival. A nice middle distance course set by Pete Bundschuh. Lots of short, technical legs. Map at 1:7500.
Did well through the first 10 controls except for some brief hesitations to make sure I was reading the map correctly. Sloppy approach to 11 from a very strong attack point. Drifted off the line and wasn't watching features on 12 - lost 3-4 minutes. Misread that I needed to climb 3 contours to get to 15. About 6 minutes errors total. 5th in M50, 10th overall on Green X.

| At Thacher, mostly on trails but a little in the woods. Was supposed to meet Bill Jameson (vetter for the A-meet) to check a few points but due to a communication mix-up we were both there but at different times. Oops. We've got evrything figured out though. A fine April day, 38F with snow flurries. :-) Plus some snow on the ground. It was warmer in January! Ran along the (big) cliff - could seen the Green Mountains (but they were white). |

| Syring Rd., Albany Tpke out and back. Legs tired from the last two days of orienteering. Very nice day - upper 50's and sunny. |
