Event: 2006 Sprint Series Finals

Orienteering race 15:02 [5]*** 2.4 km (6:16 / km) +40m 5:47 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
Sprint 1. 3rd in heat just behind Rick Dewitt but moved ahead on fastest time rule. A few small errors but controls were done as a group effort.
Orienteering race 20:11 [5]**** 2.32 km (8:42 / km) +55m 7:47 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
Sprint 2. More in the woods and more technical than the 1st sprint. About a minute of error on #8 plus a few other smaller ones. Feeling the effects of the first sprint and couldn't move as fast as I wanted.
Orienteering race 27:39 [4]*** 2.56 km (10:48 / km) +80m 9:20 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
Sprint 3. A few route choice errors, one of which resulted in a 6 minute error when I started searching in the wrong group of buildings. Lost the pack after the map exchange and then had trouble keeping map contact. A really nice, challenging course.

Sprint #1 - short - Splits

Sprint #2 - short - Splits

Event: 2006 Sprint Series Finals Festival

Orienteering race 56:12 [4]*** 4.67 km (12:02 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons
Farsta at Hickory Run SP as part of Sprint Festival. Split the legs with Janet with her doing the shortest possible leg (RGRR) and me doing the longest possible (GRGG). Pretty clean run with about a two minute error on the penultimate control (163 - described as the "upper boulder rocky ground junction" - Huh?). Saw very few people out there since I did the second leg. Lots more bearing and pace than I normally do, but it seemed to work.

Friday Sep 15

Road Run 17:04 [3]2.0 mi (8:31 / mi)
shoes: NB 878 - #6
Short run with 4 or 5 short pick-ups (between power poles). Rt 66S. Quite humid (of course - it rained for the last two days).

Wednesday Sep 13

Trail Run 38:51 [3]3.9 mi (9:57 / mi)
shoes: NB 809
At Hand Hollow Preserve. Did about 1.1miles at intensity 4 in three separate pieces with slower stuff in between (about 9 minutes of faster running).
