Road Run 36:59 [3] 4.24 mi (8:43 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
Should've done a longer run today but have a cold and the weather was non-motivating (35F, overcast with snow flurries). Afterwards was glad I went out, but where the heck is Spring? 66N, Pratt Rd (the big hill), Bacchus, 66S.

Saturday Apr 7

Orienteering 23:58 [3] ** 2.98 km (8:03 / km) +10m 7:55 / km
spiked:12/13c shoes: VJ Falcons
EMPO epunch practice session. Grant Staats set a course using an aerial photo of some land his family owns along the Hudson river about 3 miles south of Albany (on the opposite side of the river). First time I recall orienteering using an aerial photo - lots of fun. Most of the controls were along handrails or on fairly obvious features but it was good practice using far less information than you get from a regular o-map. There was no scale given on the map so you had figure it out from the first few controls (scale was about 1:4300). Straight line course length was 2.25km, Forerunner measured just under 3.0km actual distance I covered. Temperature in the 30's and very wet underfoot.
Orienteering (Field Checking) 50:00 [1] *** 4.1 km (12:12 / km)
At Camp Pinnacle. Field checking BG sprint courses (and doing a bit of remapping). In the 30's with some breeze in the open areas. 2" of *fresh* snow on the ground (at 1500' elevation). Most of the deep snow which was here two weeks ago is gone. Hope winter ends soon but also hope that it's not 80F for Billygoat weekend. Actually out for about 1:40 but a good bit of that was standing around improving the map.

Friday Apr 6

Road Run 35:33 [3] 4.11 mi (8:38 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
66N, Shaker Museum Rd. and back. A nice winter's day run - except that it's April!! 34F with a breeze. I guess this is payback for 60's in January.

Tuesday Apr 3

Road Run 29:38 [3] 3.34 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
66N to Pitts Rd and back. Legs still somewhat trashed from the weekend (left quad, right ankle and knee sore and lots of red dots all over my upper legs). 53F (dropping to 48 by the time I finished) with a breeze.
