| Event: DVOA - Norristown |
 | Orienteering race 20:09 [5] *** 3 km (6:43 / km) | |
| shoes: NB 804 - Size 9.5 |
| "BTTW" Sprint at Norristown State Hospital. Very hot (80's and sunny). Made about a 1 minute error at #6 (didn't see a building hidden in vegetation - D'oh!) and about 15 sec error on #8 (took a route around vegetation that I could have easily gone through). Course was mostly open using the complex-shaped buildings to create route choice. Ended up 5th overall, Wyatt first in ~15 min. |
 | Orienteering race 24:34 [5] *** 2.9 km (8:28 / km) | |
| shoes: NB 804 - Size 9.5 |
| "Kievesque" sprint at Norristown (trash in the woods and terrain apparently like Kiev, no dogs though). Even hotter than the first sprint - really felt it near the end. Four controls in the middle in the woods and a nice little "maze" near the end. Pretty clean on most of the controls but slowed way down in the woods and for the maze. 8th overall, 1:15 behind 3rd. Balter was first in ~21 min. Two great courses set by Clem. |

 | Road Run 28:27 [3] 3.07 mi (9:15 / mi) | |
| shoes: NB878 - #7 |
| Tried to run at "easy/long" pace based on 5k time a few weeks ago. Tough to go that slow at first but then settled in. Should've been targeting 9:30, but 9:15 was all I could manage. 66N, Shaker Museum Rd to T'way bridge and back. 75F and a bit muggy. |

 | Trail Run 47:49 [3] 4.51 mi (10:35 / mi) +250m 5:37 / km | |
| shoes: NB 809 |
| Parked at Olivia's overlook (along Richmond-Lenox Rd. near where it crosses the Lenox Mountain ridge). Headed NE to Monk's Pond then down the dirt road to the powerline, up the spur to Baldhead, over to the top of the ridge and back to the car via the ridge (which is mostly downhill). Lots of climb (and descent), probably more than I counted from the topo map since there are some ups and downs which the contours don't capture. Nice day for a run, mostly sunny and about 70. |

 | Orienteering (Field Checking) 1:30:00 *** 5.12 mi (17:34 / mi) | |
| shoes: NB 809 |
| More field checking and remapping at Five Rivers. Ran between control sites but spent some time walking (or just standing still) to (I hope) improve the map. Sunny and about 80F. Good enough for the NOD event (white, yellow and score-O). |
