Sunday Sep 16

Orienteering 1:04:15 *** 3.39 mi (18:57 / mi)
shoes: NB 809
Hanging control flags in the morning before the NOD event at Five Rivers. Hung a total of 14 bags, which is included in the total time. Beautiful day - mostly sunny and low 60's - resulting in a pretty good turnout. Cooler when I was hanging the flags between 9 and 10am. The advanced course was a score-O/Poker-O (build a poker hand of five cards selected from the 20 which were out there, one at each control location). Some understood the concept better than others. :-)

An interesting coincidence that the distance measured by the Forerunner for the control hanging loop I did today was exactly the same as yesterdays. Completely different loops!

I appear to have a streak of running 4 days in a row - longest in a while. It'll probably end soon.

Saturday Sep 15

Orienteering 49:07 *** 3.39 mi (14:29 / mi)
shoes: NB 809
Hanging the more remote control flags at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center for Sundays NOD event. Ran between controls but time includes hanging 11 bags (a minute per bag? - sites weren't streamered but I'd visited them before). Did this after helping to man the EMPO booth for 4 hours at the Fall Festival at Five Rivers (a convenient coincidence that we had scheduled our NOD event here). I set up four demo controls within a couple hundred meters of the booth using a small portion of the map - about five groups gave it a try. I'm not logging it, but I spent 20 minutes walking around to hang those bags. Rained early in the day but cleared up for the festival and was quite nice by the time I went out to hang flags.

Friday Sep 14

Road Run intervals 38:43 4.58 mi (8:26 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
Road Intervals. 5 x 400 with 2:30 recovery. 65 and overcast - cooler than it's been. Splits 145, 144, 148. 142, 146. Target was 145. These didn't feel particularly hard. Used the Forerunner to measure interval distance and pace.

Thursday Sep 13

Road Run 21:32 [3] 2.55 mi (8:26 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
South on 66 and back. Low 60's - nice for running. Got home late from work and didn't have time to run for long. Better than skipping the run.

Tuesday Sep 11

Road Run 32:56 [3] 3.71 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #7
66N, Albany Tpke, back via Howes and Shaker Museum Rd. Mid 60's but quite humid. Felt a bit sluggish.
