Road Run 49:13 [3] 5.58 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: NB 809

On snow covered roads (roads that were in need of plowing in many places!). Another 5 or so inches of snow today to add to yesterday's 10". Headed out as it was finally winding down and wore Yaktrax, which worked pretty well. Ran north on Albany Tpke to beyond the pipeline and then looped through Malden Bridge on the way back. Temps in the low 20's.

Snowshoe 32:49 [3] 2.04 mi (16:05 / mi)
shoes: NB 809

Around the back yard in about 10" of new snow. Did 2.5 laps, breaking trail for the first lap and then following that trail for the rest. Mixed running, jogging and walking depending on snow depth and incline. Could feel some muscles which I haven't used in a while so slowed occasionally to allow them to rest. A cold day (18F when I was out, just before sunset) so the snow was light and fluffy. Light snow was falling most of the day. Another 6 - 10" predicted for tomorrow. Much better than ice!

Note

Also ran the snowthrower and shoveled to clear the driveway and environs. There's some strength work in there somewhere, but not anything loggable.

Road Run 38:36 [3] 4.68 mi (8:15 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #8

Dark and 30 degrees is so much nicer than the treadmill. Still feeling the holiday luncheon we had at work today even after five hours to digest it. Shaker Museum Rd and back.

Treadmill 35:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #8

Went to the fitness center primarily to shower but figured I should work out while I was there. Ran with the treadmill set at about 7mph, playing occasionally with the incline. Boring, but I got through it.

The true highlight of the day was that the power came back on at home at about 5:30pm - a tad over 4 1/2 days. Spent the evening putting the camping stuff away and enjoying the finer things in life, like toilets that flush.
