Road Run 42:45 [3] 5.02 mi (8:31 / mi)

Snowshoe race 50:50 intensity: (25:25 @4) + (25:25 @5) 4.72 mi (10:46 / mi) +150m 9:48 / mi
shoes: Dion Snowshoes

Hawley Kiln Klassic snowshoe race at ... Hawley Kiln, of course (in ... Hawley, MA). About 2 miles on snowmobile trails, the rest on single track, which was a bit gnarly. Landing slightly to the side on the single track could sink you down several inches in soft snow. The snowmobile trails were quite fast since it rained yesterday and then froze overnight. Pace on the single track was in the 12 min/mile range while it was about 8 min/mile on the snowmobile track. Temps in the low 20's and sunny. A bit breezy waiting around to start but quite fine in the woods. 19th out of 73.

Snowshoe 6:00 [3] 0.5 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: Dion Snowshoes

Out to the kiln and back as a cooldown. The kiln is a ~15ft high stone behive.

Road Run intervals 38:02 intensity: (4:00 @2) + (20:20 @3) + (13:42 @5) 4.6 mi (8:16 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #8

Road intervals in the dark. 4 x 0.5 mi with 2:00 recovery. Splits: 325, 326, 322, 329. Small hill on 1st and 4th. 66N and back, because there are no significant potholes on this stretch of road. Upper 30's. I find that intervals on the road are much easier mentally than intervals on the treadmill.

Treadmill 31:25 [3] 3.5 mi (8:59 / mi)
shoes: NB878 - #8

Ran until my brain was numb or 3.5 miles, whichever came later.

Felt no need to run a 1600m time trial. I guess I could log a time of 8:34 since I had the treadmill set there for at least a mile. :-)
